Fantasy Basketball Value Picks: Top DraftKings NBA DFS Ba...

Bryan Armetta breaks down Thursday’s one-game featured NBA playoffs DFS slate to find two undervalued players to slot into your lineups.

Another day, another exciting Conference Finals matchup. The NBA heads out east tonight for Game 2 between the Cavaliers and Knicks. Following an epic comeback on Tuesday, New York will be looking to take a decisive 2-0 series lead. The pressure will be on Cleveland to even things up after fumbling away a Game 1 victory.

On this select one-game featured NBA DFS slate, all eyes will be on the superstars tonight. Names such as Jalen Brunson (10,400), Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,000) and Donovan Mitchell ($9,800) are all expected to take the floor this evening. Still, filling out a fantasy lineup demands a mix of big names and quality role players. In the postseason, a lesser-known contributor often makes all the difference. Here are two bargains worth heavy consideration in all DFS formats ahead of Thursday’s Game 2 showdown.

PG/SG Miles McBride, New York Knicks ($5,000)

Unlike in years past, the Knicks possess one of the NBA’s better bench units. While that’s good for the team, it can make things somewhat unpredictable for fantasy managers. On any given night, someone new is capable of stepping up for head coach Mike Brown. In Game 1, it was Landry Shamet ($2,600) that made a major impact down the stretch. However, New York’s sixth man Miles McBride (4 FPTS) didn’t do much over 17 minutes. It’s been an up and down postseason for the 25-year-old. Over his last 11 games, Deuce is averaging 6.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists (11.9 FPTS).

With that being said, McBride has certainly had his moments. In the final game of round two against Philadelphia, he drained a whopping seven three-pointers en route to 35.5 fantasy points. Keep in mind, the guard did shoot over 41% from long distance during the regular season. That should help him contribute in this series against a questionable perimeter defense. Opponents are shooting 37.2% from deep against Cleveland, tied for the fourth-highest mark in basketball. McBride has tallied at least 12 points in four of his last six meetings against the Cavaliers. That bodes well for his chances at a bounce-back performance on Thursday.

SF/PF Dean Wade, Cleveland Cavaliers ($3,000)

As previously mentioned, the Cavs can struggle at times when it comes to guarding the perimeter. That was arguably the biggest difference in Game 1, when Brunson took full advantage of a worn down James Harden ($9,400). If Cleveland is going to slow down a superstar guard, it’ll take a strong effort from several different players. One name that impressed on Tuesday was Dean Wade. During a postseason-high 29 minutes, the wing recorded ten points, five rebounds and three assists (22.2 FPTS). All three of the 29-year-old’s field goal makes came from three-point range.

At 6’9″, Wade is arguably Cleveland’s most capable Brunson defender. As a part-time player, he can afford to play aggressive and pick up a few fouls as well. It would behoove head coach Kenny Atkinson to give the veteran a similar workload tonight. On the other end of the floor, New York has surrendered 13.6 three-pointers made per game to opponents. That’s the 12th-highest mark in the NBA this season. Wade is shooting 39.5% from beyond the arc over 15 games this postseason. A couple of treys, along with a handful of counting stats, would make him a massive steal at $3,000.
