Alex Hunter details his best NBA player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Thursday’s NBA game between the Timberwolves and Nuggets.
The Timberwolves are hosting the Nuggets for Game 3 of this first-round playoff series Thursday. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Denver is favored by 2.5 points and this game carries a total of 233.5 points.
Let’s dive into three of my favorite player prop bets for tonight’s contest.
Murray has a true knack for getting on the board quickly. In the first three minutes of contests this season, Murray is leading the Nuggets with 2.2 points and a 27% usage rate while shooting 53% from the field. In the games he and Nikola Jokic have played together, Murray has impressively scored 17 more points in the first three minutes than Jokic.
Murray has only failed to score at least two points in the first three minutes once in his last 10 starts. The guard cashed this early-game prop in both Game 1 and Game 2 of this series vs. the Timberwolves, and Murray has scored at least two points in the first three minutes of four of his six matchups vs. Minnesota this season.
Gordon is averaging 1.7 made three-pointers per game this season, and he has stayed under 1.5 made three-pointers in eight of his last 10. The Timberwolves are allowing the fewest made three-pointers per game in the NBA, and Gordon has struggled in this matchup, registering one made three-pointer or fewer in three of his four meetings with Minnesota this season. He’s also been downgraded to questionable, so if he does play, he might not take on his usual allotment of minutes.
Gordon has oddly been a much better three-point shooter on the road this season, hitting 45% of his treys away from Denver, compared to just 32% at home. That being said, the forward isn’t a great outside shooter to begin with, and in this horrible matchup, backing him for under 1.5 made three-pointers is smart.
DiVincenzo racked up six assists in Game 2, but this was very lucky, as he only finished the contest with seven potential assists. The veteran has been a subpar playmaker this season, and DiVicenzo should come back down to reality in Game 3.
DiVincenzo is averaging 3.8 assists on just 5.8 potential assists per game and he has stayed under 3.5 assists in 12 of his last 15.
