Best NBA Playoffs player prop bets for Saturday 5/9/26
Bryan Armett · 2026-05-10 · via DraftKings Network

Bryan Armetta shares his two favorite player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday’s two-game NBA playoffs slate.

The NBA postseason continues on Saturday with a pair of Game 3’s. Following another disappointing loss, the Cavaliers will look to stave off a red-hot Pistons squad at home. Later, the Lakers will attempt to earn a much-needed win against the defending champion Thunder.

Who should bettors target ahead of today’s playoff matchups? Here are my two favorite NBA prop bet picks on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday’s contests.

Top NBA prop bet picks

Jarrett Allen under 7.5 rebounds (-107)

So much has gone wrong for Cleveland over the last two games, especially down low. The duo of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen have been pushed around inside the paint, to say the least. It’s been a mixed bag for the latter, who has been inconsistent all postseason. During the first two games against Detroit this series, Allen is averaging 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds. After a disappointing Game 1, the center bounced back on Thursday with a 22-point, seven-rebound performance. With that being said, counting stats are never easy to come by against this stifling Pistons defense.

It’s not as if Allen has a history of dominating the glass in this matchup. The big man has failed to record eight or more rebounds in five of his last six meetings with Detroit. In fact, the former All-Star has gone under this total in seven of his nine outings this postseason. As a unit, the Pistons are only giving up 50.8 boards per game to opponents, the seventh-best in basketball this season. At 6’9″, it’s worth noting that Allen is undersized compared to most centers in the association. That’s not ideal when facing a big, physical Detroit front court.

Deandre Ayton 10+ rebounds (+115)

We’ll stick with Saturday’s rebounding focus, this time backing (not fading) a big man. Deandre Ayton is a bit of an enigma; the former first overall pick hasn’t lived up to his pre-draft hype. However, he’s proven to be an above-average NBA center. The Bahamian has come in handy for the Lakers as of late, especially on the glass. Through eight playoff games, he’s putting up 10.5 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. Even more impressive, he ranks third among all players this postseason with 3.9 offensive rebounds per game. With or without scoring, the Arizona alum has certainly made his presence felt.

Points inside the paint have been hard to come by for Los Angeles, which is to be expected. The Thunder wield the NBA’s most formidable defense, keeping even the best scorers in check. However, the defending champs are somewhat vulnerable when it comes to boxing out. They’ve given up 54.2 boards per game to opponents, tenth-most in the NBA this season. This postseason, Oklahoma City’s 68.4% defensive rebounding rate ranks eighth out of 16 teams. That’s not a bad mark per se, but it isn’t exceptional either. Ayton has snagged at least ten boards in six of his eight contests during the playoffs. For a safer bet tonight, consider 9+ rebounds (-139).
