Sykes has truly been doing it all this season. Not only is she coming off an explosive 38-point performance against the Sparks, but she also added three steals and a block to her box score. The 32-year-old has put up strong numbers through four games despite lower shooting efficiency (36.1% FG%) and currently leads the newest franchise Toronto Tempo in assists per game. However, that number sits just below the 5+ line at 4.5. Nothing that jumps off the page, but the Tempo are enduring early franchise growing pains, navigating their offensive schemes while pulling out two wins in four games. Sykes has been a huge part of that, operating as an impressive two-way weapon and veteran leader while controlling ball distribution when needed. Sykes has hit 5+ just once this season, but with a small sample size of only four games, I like the value of taking 5+ against the Mercury tonight.
Thomas is aging like fine wine. The 34-year-old continues to impress with her all-around versatility on the basketball court, leading her team in assists per game (8.5) while ranking second in both points per game (16.5) and rebounds per game (7.5). I could write an essay on Thomas’ overall impact on the court, but tonight, we’re just talking distribution. The Maryland alum has recorded eight or more assists in five of Phoenix’s last six games and has already posted 10+ assists once this season. In a matchup against the Tempo, who allow the fourth-most assists per game to opponents this season (21.0), I see a path for Thomas to hit that 10+ mark again. She’s the floor general for the Mercury, and +109 is great value to grab here.
You might not be familiar with the name Jovana Nogic, but she has certainly made an impact early in her WNBA career. The 28-year-old Serbian pro is averaging 16.0 points per game in her rookie season, sitting just 0.5 points behind Thomas on Phoenix’s leaderboard. As an underrated and undrafted player, Nogic shocked the W by exploding for 27 points in the Mercury’s last outing against the Sky while shooting a red-hot 62.5% from three. She’s scored over 11.5 points in three of her four games this season and has eclipsed 16+ points in all but one game. I’m definitely backing this prop bet, and so is the public!
Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a Same Game Parlay and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together… feel free to tag along!
Brittney Sykes 5+ Assists (+134)
Alyssa Thomas 10+ Assists (+109)
Jovana Nogic Over 11.5 Points (-135)
