Tyrese Maxey, Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks ($8,600)
76ers down 0-2 in the series. Joel Embiid is questionable. This game is at home. Maxey. Maxey. Maxey. He garnered a 32% usage rate in the Game 2 and has to be that dude in Game 3 if Philadelphia has any chance. And I think he will roadrunner his way around, producing fantasy goodies like Sonic collecting coins. In addition, the Knicks defense could be weakened with the possibility of no OG Anunoby and/or Josh Hart. Maxey played a whopping 47 minutes in Game 2 and will likely be in the mid-to-high 40s once again for this one. In these playoffs, Maxey has gone over 50 FPTS four times. During the regular season, he accomplished the feat 34 times with 16 of those over 60 FPTS. I think another 50-burger is a good possibility.
Other Options: Jalen Brunson ($8,400), Stephon Castle ($6,800), Josh Hart ($6,600)
Miles McBride, New York Knicks at Philadelphia 76ers ($4,000)
McBride is only shooting 33% from the field in 19.4 minutes per game during these playoffs. He is converting 40% from downtown, though. In Game 2, he played 21 minutes. There’s a good chance he sees a few more minutes in this one due to the uncertain statuses of Anunoby and Hart. The floor/ceiling combo isn’t great for McBride because he’s a one-dimensional player, but he can get hot.
Other Options: Kelly Oubre Jr. ($5,200), Dylan Harper ($4,800)
Paul George, Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks ($6,900)
George was fantastic in Game 2, going 7-for-18 from the field while stuffing the stat sheet. He finished with 42 FPTS in 43 minutes of action. I’m expecting a spirited performance from the 76ers at home with George being an integral part of the action. His life could be made a teeny weeny bit easier if Anunoby and Hart can’t go. Regardless, the price is nice for the expected production and usage.
Other Options: Karl-Anthony Towns ($8,800), Julius Randle ($7,400), Josh Hart ($6,600)
Julian Champagnie, San Antonio Spurs at Minnesota Timberwolves ($4,600)
Champagnie is an important part of the rotation due to his size and ability to space the floor. In Game 1, he put up 26.75 FPTS in 32 minutes. In Game 2, he finished with 26.75 FPTS in 22 minutes! What consistency! Champagnie will rarely put up a ceiling game due to limited contributions in the periphery categories. That said, the floor is relatively high because he does chip in a little something something everywhere.
Other Options: Devin Vassell ($5,500), Mikal Bridges ($5,400), Kelly Oubre Jr. ($5,200)
Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs at Minnesota Timberwolves ($11,000)
I’m not crazy about the price but raw points are raw points, and Wembanyama has a variety of ways to produce those fantasy goodies. In addition, he’s always in play to put up a ridiculous stat line. In Game 2, he only played 26 minutes due to blowout. I’m expecting a close game as the Timberwolves head back home, feeling good for getting the split in San Antonio. If it’s a close, competitive affair, then Wembanyama should play 40 minutes or more and do what Wembanyama does.
Other Options: Karl-Anthony Towns ($8,800)
Adem Bona, Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks ($3,500)
Bona is only an option is Embiid is ruled out. If Embiid plays, then abort and go with Naz Reid. Bona played 16 minutes in Game 2, finishing with 15.25 FPTS. He was active on defense and on the glass. I thought he looked better than Andre Drummond, but I’m just some dude writing from his mom’s basement. Drummond only played 15 minutes in Game 2 and finished with 19.5 FPTS. I’d take the $1,000 discount.
Other Options: Naz Reid ($5,800), Andre Drummond ($4,500)
