MLB Best Bets: Top NRFI props for Friday 4/24/26
Bryan Armett · 2026-04-24 · via DraftKings Network

Bryan Armetta shares his three favorite MLB NRFI prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Friday’s 15-game slate.

It’s Friday, which means every team across Major League Baseball will take the diamond tonight. For those looking to cash in quickly on a bet, nothing makes more sense than an NRFI. With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look this evening?

Ahead of Friday’s MLB contests, here are three NRFI bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Rockies vs. Mets NRFI (-145)

The Mets finally won a series, taking two of three against the Twins. They’ll continue their home stand tonight against the woeful Rockies. However, Colorado will send one of its better arms to the hill in Michael Lorenzen. The 12th-year pro has been awful this season, posting a 7.48 ERA and 2.1 WHIP. Regardless, Lorenzen usually performs well to start games. Since 2025, he owns a sparkling 84% NRFI rate. In comparison, the Mets are scoring the second-fewest runs per game in baseball (3.52). New York will also be without one of its best hitters in Francisco Lindor (calf).

Staff ace Freddy Peralta will get the ball in the top half of the inning. It’s been a decent month in Queens for the two-time All-Star. He owns a 4.05 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 28 strikeouts over 26.2 innings of work this season. Throw the numbers out tonight though; the Rockies (on the road) are a terrific matchup for any pitcher. When playing away from Coors Field, Colorado has delivered the league’s 13th-worst YRFI rate (23.08%). During his last four meetings with the Rockies, Peralta has surrendered just seven earned runs (2.78 ERA).

Pirates vs. Brewers NRFI (-155)

Paul Skenes has rapidly ascended the ranks of best pitchers on Earth. Right now, only one or two names stack up against Pittsburgh’s ultra-talented ace. It’s been a predictably dominant 2026 campaign for the two-time All-Star. Through 22.0 frames, he’s accounted for a 3.27 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 23 strikeouts. Those numbers would be even better if you remove a disastrous Opening Day outing against the Mets (0.2 IP, 5 ER). Now, the right-hander gets to face a Brewers lineup missing Jackson Chourio (hand) and Christian Yelich (groin). Milwaukee is tied for the National League’s fourth-worst YRFI rate at home (25%). On the flip side, Skenes has posted a terrific 89% NRFI rate since 2025.

In this battle between aces, Brandon Woodruff is expected to toe the slab in Milwaukee. Despite constant injuries, the righty is an intimidating presence on the mound when healthy. Over four appearances this season, he’s notched a 3.42 ERA and 0.93 WHIP. In addition, the veteran owns a lifetime 3.05 ERA against Pittsburgh. Granted, these Pirates seem to have made major strides at the plate. Still, Woodruff’s track record suggests, at the very least, a clean first inning. He’s produced a solid 76% NRFI rate throughout his career. I’m willing to bet the former All-Star continues that trend at home tonight.

Athletics vs. Rangers NRFI (-115)

Luis Severino is an enigma, equally capable of brilliance or disaster on any given outing. A large part of the 11th-year pro’s success comes down to location. Sacramento’s Sutter Health Park is a true hitter’s haven, and nobody has felt that more than Sevvy. His 6.01 ERA at home in 2025 ranked as one of the worst in baseball. However, he’s put up a quality 3.36 ERA on the road over the past two seasons. There’s a decent chance that level of success continues on Friday. The Rangers are scoring an American League-worst 3.0 runs per game at home.

Texas will send out Nathan Eovaldi this evening. After a dominant but injury riddled 2025 campaign, the veteran has had trouble returning to form. Through 26.2 innings this season, he’s on the hook for a 5.06 ERA and 1.54 WHIP. With that being said, the righty has allowed two earned runs or less in each of his last three starts. He’s also been almost unhittable in this matchup; Evo owns a 1.61 ERA over his last five meetings with the Athletics. Shaky April aside, I’m liking the _36year-old’s chances tonight at spacious Globe Life Field.
