AEW Dynamite preview for June 17, 2026 featuring Owen Hart Tournament action, Team MJF vs. Team Mark Briscoe and more.
AEW Dynamite returns on June 17, 2026, from Houston, Texas, at the Smart Financial Centre. With AEW Forbidden Door just a couple of weeks away, the final card for the event continues to be ironed out. One of the big matches on Forbidden Door was announced last week, which will feature MJF and Mark Briscoe assembling a six-man team to compete in a Steel Cage match. This week’s AEW Dynamite will not only see them pick their team, but then fight in a 12-man tag match! See what else is scheduled for the June 17 AEW Dynamite below!
We’ll have all the latest updates right here on DraftKings Network as additional matches and segments are announced for Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite from Houston, Texas!
Below is our full AEW Dynamite preview for June 17, 2026, including the confirmed match card and predictions.
Here’s a look at what’s on tap for Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite in Houston! Limited tickets for this event are available through ATG Tickets!
This match will decide who will move on to the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament, which will take place at Forbidden Door on June 28th. Hazuki pulled off an upset in the first round, defeating Persephone. Many thought Persephone was destined for the finals, but she was instead shockingly pinned in the first round. Moné made her long-awaited return in the first round as Alex Windsor’s mystery opponent, submitting her after 12 minutes. Now, Moné and Hazuki will clash here in the semifinals and will face the winner of Athena and Maya World, which will take place on AEW Collision on Saturday. I believe we’re destined for a Moné vs. Athena final at Forbidden Door, so Moné should earn the win here.
Mercedes Moné vs. Hazuki Prediction: Mercedes Moné earns the win and goes to the finals
We don’t know who is on the teams until AEW Dynamite, so making a prediction is impossible. This match at AEW Forbidden Door came about as MJF has repeatedly denied Briscoe’s requests for an AEW World Championship match. Briscoe took this up with Tony Khan, who said if Briscoe’s team can win at Forbidden Door, Briscoe would earn his AEW World title shot.
While we don’t know the teams yet, it does look likely that MJF will have the services of The Don Callis Family. Current TNT Champion Kevin Knight, who recently joined The Don Callis Family, requested an AEW title shot of his own if he joined MJF’s team. MJF agreed, although it’s unknown when that match will take place. Briscoe will also likely have members of The Conglomeration on his side. Nonetheless, it should be a huge main event on AEW Dynamite.
Team MJF vs. Team Mark Briscoe Prediction: TBD
