Sunday Night Baseball Best Bets: Tigers at Royals Best Pr...
Zach Thompso · 2026-05-11 · via DraftKings Network

ZT breaks down his top player props to consider for Sunday Night Baseball’s matchup between the Detroit Tigers and the Kansas City Royals.

Sunday Night Baseball is in the Show Me State this week as the Detroit Tigers visit the Kansas City Royals at 7:20 p.m. ET on Peacock. The Royals won the first two games of the set and are looking to finish the sweep before heading on the road for a pair of series next week. They are the slight favorites at -126 on the moneyline with the over/under at 8.5 runs. Let’s dive in and find a few player prop bets to target in this Sunday Night Baseball AL Central showdown.

For each Major League Baseball matchup, DraftKings Sportsbook has a wide variety of batter and pitcher props on the board. Let’s take a look at my top three best bets from the player prop market in this Sunday Night Baseball matchup.

Tigers at Royals Prop Bets for 5/10/26

Noah Cameron Over 15.5 outs recorded (-103)

The Royals will give the ball to Noah Cameron for his seventh start of the season. The 26-year-old lefty is 2-2 with a 5.40 ERA and 4.46 FIP with an average of 5 1/3 innings per start. He went exactly 5 1/3 in his last start, going over this prop line against the Athletics, even though he took the loss and allowed five runs (four earned).

Cameron has gone over this prop in four of his last five games, with the only exception a tough start on the road against the Yankees. Even in his less effective outings, he still usually works deep into the game since he has decent command and pitches to weak contact when he’s effective.

The Tigers aren’t a matchup that must be avoided at this point after dropping five straight. They’ve only scored a total of 11 runs in those five losses, and they struggle against lefties since many of their power bats are left-handed. Against lefties, Detroit is only hitting .210, which is the fourth-worst mark in the majors in that split. It only has a 92 wRC+ in the split, meaning it’s 8% below league average.

Matt Vierling 2+ Total Bases (+141)

Vierling is one of the Tigers’ few regular right-handed hitters. He is only hitting .216 on the season with a .287 wOBA, but he has been picking things up lately. He has been hitting leadoff against lefties, and he was in that spot on Friday in the first game of this series. In that Friday matchup, he doubled to go over this prop line, but he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout on Saturday.

Vierling has 2+ total bases in four of his last eight games, with three doubles and a home run for 1.75 total bases per game over that stretch. He’s 8-for-31 (.258) over those eight games with a pair of barrels and a 34.6% hard-hit rate.

Vierling is hitting .257 this season against lefties and hit .289 against them last year. He’s typically excelled on that side of the split, so he should be in a favorable matchup against Cameron, who he’ll be facing for the first time in his career.

Maikel Garcia 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI (-136)

To counter Cameron, the Tigers are going with a bullpen game, which will be started with righty Brenan Hanifee before Drew Anderson works the bulk of the innings. Regardless of the matchup, Garcia has been the typical leadoff hitter for the Royals and has hit .270 on the year with 20 runs scored, 15 RBIs and four stolen bases.

Garcia has 74 HRR (hits, runs and RBI) in his 38 games this season (1.95 HRR per game). Over his last 10 games, he’s been even better with 12 hits, five RBIs and five runs for 2.2 HRR per game over that stretch. He has 2+ HRR in each of the first two games in this series and in seven of his last 10.

Adding in Garcia’s HRR to the other two bets makes for a nice +750 SGP (Same Game Parlay) as you can see below. You can also check out my top home run props, which includes a play from this contest as well to boost the odds even higher.
