Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 just committed to a massive character death, all while setting the stage for some ground-breaking cameos. Sam Connon breaks down everything you need to know before Episode 6 of the latest MCU series hits Disney+.
We are officially heading into the home stretch of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Fans who have followed the show since 2015 just got rewarded with a juicy flashback episode, while the weeks ahead are sure to feature even more cameos and familiar faces returning to the fold.
If you are locked in for the rest of the MCU revival series, here is everything you need to know ahead of Episode 6:
Episode 6 will premiere on Disney+ at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 21. The episode, which is titled Requiem, is expected to have a runtime between 50 and 60 minutes.
The second season will consist of eight episodes, compared to the nine-episode first season and the three 13-episode Netflix seasons from the previous era. The ensuing two episodes will drop weekly through the finale on May 5, followed by The Punisher: One Last Kill special presentation on May 12.
(Warning: Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 5 ahead.)
Following a bit of a fake-out death, we can now officially cross another character off the board. At the same time, a couple of much-anticipated cameos turned out to be flashbacks, so it remains to be seen if they will find a way to return after all. With the defunct Netflix universe still set to bleed into the revival, here is a look at who could pop up in Season 2 Episodes 6:
As it turns out, Vanessa Fisk didn’t die in the ring at Fogwell’s Gym in Episode 5. Instead, she made it through surgery and woke back up for a matter of minutes, drinking some pineapple juice before dying for real. So, after reliving the night he met Vanessa at an art gallery with his now-deceased fixer Wesley, Kingpin is enraged and even more alone. While Bullseye is obviously to blame for Vanessa’s death, maybe Kingpin could have stepped aside and let the doctors do their work instead of repeatedly scaring off medical workers.
Still, Bullseye remains public enemy No. 1, and Matt just took him back to his hideout for some much-less-official medical attention. While fleeing the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, Matt mentioned that he knows a nurse who could patch up Bullseye’s gunshot wound. Is Claire Temple – a.k.a. The Night Nurse – finally going to join the MCU proper? Karen isn’t too happy about Matt helping Bullseye, since he’s the one who killed Foggy, so we’ll have to see how that comes into play, as well.
We are running out of time for Jessica Jones to crossover into the MCU herself, but we know she’s going to show up eventually. Apparently, she now has a daughter who is going to get caught in the crossfire of the AVTF, which will vault her into the main plot alongside Daredevil. In the comics, Jessica had a daughter with Luke Cage named Danielle. Set photos from Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 show Jessica with Luke and Finn Jones’ Danny Rand – a.k.a. Iron Fist – but maybe the Defenders reunion could happen before the end of Season 2.
Here is the trailer for the second half of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2:
