Fresh off a voluntary recoupling, Thursday’s episode picked up with our islanders — well, most of them — basking in the security of their chosen connections.
Then Ariana Madix showed up.
With the islanders gathered around the firepit, the reality TV star revealed which four couples were safe after America’s second vote. In no particular order, the pairs who drew the most votes were Trinity and Bryce, Aniya and KC, Kayda and Zach, and Melanie and Sin—wait, Melanie and Sincere?
Then the televised social experiment turned it up to DEFCON 1, leaving the fate of its vulnerable islanders — Jen, Sol, Kenzie, Gabe, Caleb, and Corbin — in the hands of the protected ones, with one girl and one guy heading home.
With the boys deciding which girl would pack her bags, Sincere delivered the fateful blow: they’d decided to dump Sol — who, earlier in the day, rightfully called Sincere “full of sh–t” to his face — from the villa, saving Jen and Kenzie. The decision didn’t seem mutual on KC’s part, who made the shocking admission to the boys that he would explore Sol if she could stay.
Then it was the girls’ turn. With Melanie as their spokesperson, she began by saying that the boy they chose is always searching for the next-best thing — and I’m sure you can tell where this is heading. It was only a matter of time before she announced that Gabriel would be on the first flight out of Fiji. Corbin and Caleb were free to take a seat.
