Ryan Wohl previews tonight’s UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House, headlined by Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje.
Tonight on the South Lawn at the White House in Washington, D.C., the UFC will put on a one-of-a-kind event. UFC Freedom 250 is headlined by two title fights: Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje for the Undisputed Lightweight Championship, while Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane go toe-to-toe for the Interim Heavyweight title.
Topuria, 29, is 17-0 with 15 finishes and is currently on one of the greatest runs in UFC history. He has scored knockout wins over Charles Oliveira, Max Holloway, and Alexander Volkanovski in his first three title fights. Topuria is as gifted a fighter as we have ever seen in the UFC. Right now, Topuria is the No. 2 pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC behind only Islam Makhachev. Tonight, Topuria has the ability to add another future UFC Hall of Famer to his resume.
The veteran Gaethje is 37 years old and not new to Undisputed Lightweight title fights, as this is his third one. Previously, he lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Oliveira for Undisputed gold. Since facing Oliveira for the Undisputed title in May 2022, Gaethje is 4-1 in the last three years.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Topuria is a 470 favorite with Gaethje being the underdog at +360. Topuria is getting 65 percent of bets, with 35 percent going to Gaethje. Meanwhile, 77 percent of the handle is on Gaethje while 35 percent is on Topuria.
Gane is 13-2 with nine finishes and has the opportunity to become a two-time Interim Heavyweight Champion. Since winning his first Interim title at UFC 265 in August 2021 against Derrick Lewis, Gane has gone 3-2 with one no contest. Pereira is a former two-division champion in the UFC and is one of the greatest strikers in promotion history. Although it is for an Interim title, a victory in this fight would make Pereira the first fighter in UFC history to hold gold in three divisions.
In the co-main event, Gane is a slight -112 favorite with Pereira being -108 to win this bout. Even though he’s the underdog, Pereira is a fan favorite, receiving 83 percent of the handle and 82 percent of bets in this fight. 18 percent of bets and 17 percent of the handle is on Gane.
The former Bantamweight Champion is a massive -440 favorite, with Zahabi being the underdog at +340. O’Malley is coming off a win against Song Yadong at UFC 324, and if he extends his winning streak against Zahabi, a title fight could be next. Zahabi has won seven straight fights and beat Marlon Vera in his previous bout in October 2025. O’Malley is getting 92 percent of bets and 65 percent of the handle. Zahabi is receiving only 35 percent of the handle, with eight percent of bets.
At UFC 327 in April, Josh Hokit beat Curtis Blaydes in an instant classic. Hokit will look to follow up that impressive victory against another veteran Heavyweight contender with Derrick Lewis. Lewis lost his last fight to Waldo Cortes Acosta, as his previous victory came against Tallison Teixeira in July 2025. Just like O’Malley, Hokit is a -410 favorite, with Lewis a +320 underdog. Lewis is getting 74 percent of the handle as a big underdog, with 44 percent of bets placed on this fight. 56 percent of bets and 26 percent of the handle is on Hokit.
Mauricio Ruffy has won four of his previous five fights in the UFC, while Michael Chandler is on a three-fight losing streak. Ruffy is a -520 favorite with Chandler at +390 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Although Chandler is the underdog, he is getting 88 percent of the handle and 55 percent of bets. Ruffy is receiving 45 percent of bets and 12 percent of the handle.
Bo Nickal is coming off an impressive knockout against Rodolfo Vieira and will look to improve his winning streak against Kyle Daukaus, who has won six straight fights. In this bout, Nickal is -305 with Daukaus being +245 to pull off the upset. Nickal is getting 84 percent of bets, with 16 percent on Daukaus. For the handle, 66 percent is on Nickal with 34 percent for Daukaus.
Diego Lopes is 1-2 in his previous three fights and is attempting to get back in the win column for the first time since September 2025. Garcia has won seven consecutive fights, with six by knockout. The former title challenger is a -142 favorite, with Garcia a +120 underdog. In this contest, Lopes gets 83 percent of the bets and 82 percent of the handle. Garcia only receives 18 percent of the handle and 17 percent of the bets.
