MLB Best Bets: Top NRFI props for Wednesday 5/6/26
Bryan Armett · 2026-05-06 · via DraftKings Network

Bryan Armetta shares his three favorite MLB NRFI prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s 15-game slate.

A 15-game, 30-team slate gets started this afternoon across Major League Baseball. For those looking to cash in quickly on a bet, nothing makes more sense than an NRFI. With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look today?

Ahead of Wednesday’s MLB contests, here are three NRFI bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Rangers vs. Yankees NRFI (-120)

On paper, Wednesday doesn’t appear very promising for Nathan Eovaldi. The right-hander hasn’t been great in 2026, posting a 4.76 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 39 strikeouts through seven starts. Now, he’ll take the mound on the road against a formidable Yankees lineup. With that being said, the two-time All-Star has been better over the past few weeks. Evo has allowed just eight runs over his last 25.0 innings of work (2.88 ERA). That includes a seven-inning, four-hit masterpiece against New York last Thursday. In fact, Eovaldi has a 0.96 ERA over his last four meetings with the Pinstripes. Given his success in this spot, I’ll back Texas’ veteran.

On the other side, it’ll be youngster Will Warren toeing the slab. It’s been a breakout campaign for the third-year pro, who already looks like a rotation staple. Through 37.2 innings, he’s notched a 2.39 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 46 strikeouts. To boot, the right-hander has a sparkling 83% NRFI rate since 2025. It helps that the Rangers couldn’t hit a beach ball right now. They’ve scored an MLB-worst 24 runs over their last ten games. Texas’ offense has posted a 25.71% YRFI rate, tied for eighth-lowest in baseball. Warren is a good bet to escape the first inning unscathed tonight.

Pirates vs. Diamondbacks NRFI (-140)

If the Pirates are featured on this list, there’s a good chance Paul Skenes is on the bump. It’s been a predictably fantastic ’26 season from this unhittable ace. Over seven outings, the reigning Cy Young winner has accounted for a 2.91 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 39 strikeouts. He’s allowed one earned run or less in five of those appearances, as well. Over the past two seasons, Skenes has produced a terrific 87% NRFI rate. Granted, the Diamondbacks own the highest YRFI rate at home in baseball (46.91%). Regardless, Pittsburgh’s fireballer is too dominant to fade on Wednesday.

It’ll be Michael Soroka getting the start tonight for Arizona. The oft-injured right-hander has been a decent, albeit inconsistent, option for the Snakes so far. Through 30.2 frames, the former Braves hurler has put up a 4.70 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 36 strikeouts. However, that’s due in large part to a dismal three-inning, eight-run outing last week vs. St. Louis. Even though he’s erratic, Soroka owns a 78% NRFI rate since 2025. Pittsburgh is averaging 3.94 runs per game on the road, eighth-worst in the league.

Mets vs. Rockies NRFI (-120)

Running this one back, since Tuesday’s game got postponed due to weather.

We’ve saved our riskiest pick of the evening for last. A date to Coors Field, the ultimate hitter’s haven, can scare off most NRFI bettors. However, the Mets are sending their best to the hill tonight in staff ace Freddy Peralta. Over 38.1 innings with his new club, the Dominican has a 3.52 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 42 strikeouts. In addition, he tends to be at his best to open up games. Peralta has notched an impressive 85% NRFI rate since last season. The Rockies, despite their offensively-minded venue, are tied for the league’s ninth-lowest YRFI rate at home (28.4%).

Stepping on the rubber for the home team will be Michael Lorenzen. A quick glance at the veteran’s season-long stats doesn’t inspire confidence: 6.09 ERA and 1.77 WHIP. Still, the former All-Star is usually a good bet in this spot. Over the past two seasons, just like Peralta, he has an 85% NRFI rate. It helps that Tuesday’s opponents, the Mets, are scaring absolutely no one at the plate. New York is averaging 3.49 runs per game, second-fewest in baseball. When these teams met on April 24th at Citi Field, Lorenzen dominated en route to a seven-inning, one-run masterpiece.
