Arike Ogunbowale 18+ Points (-128): Ogunbowale is off to a hot start this season, scoring 20+ points in both of her first two contests while shooting 50% from the field. That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, though, as the 29-year-old has been a consistent offensive weapon in Dallas since entering the league in 2019, averaging 19.9 points and 4.0 assists per game across seven seasons. Last year was somewhat of a down year, largely due to her missing 15 games. Tonight, she faces a Minnesota Lynx team coming off a thrilling four-point win over the Mercury, but one that will be without 2024 Defensive Player of the Year Napheesa Collier for the foreseeable future due to ankle surgery. Ogunbowale has also historically played well against Minnesota, scoring 21+ points in five of her last six matchups against the Lynx. Clearing 18 points feels very manageable for the veteran guard, and the public agrees.
Marine Johannes 15+ Points (-124): Johannes has quickly become one of my favorite players to watch through the first three games of the season. The 31-year-old has been electric out of the gate, averaging 20 points per game while shooting 48.2% from three — including an absurd 11-for-22 from deep across her first two contests. With star offensive engine Sabrina Ionescu still sidelined with an ankle injury, there are plenty of shots up for grabs, and Johannes has taken full advantage, emerging as New York’s second-leading scorer early in the season. Tonight, she gets a back-to-back matchup against the Portland Fire after the Liberty dropped a close 98-96 contest on Tuesday. Johannes finished with 17 points in that game, knocking down 3-of-7 from beyond the arc while adding four assists and four rebounds. If the first three games have shown us anything, it’s that Johannes will continue to be a major offensive option while Ionescu remains sidelined. In what feels like a quick revenge spot, 15+ points is well within reach.
Breanna Stewart Over 34.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115): Stewart hasn’t missed a beat to start the season. Proving she’s still one of the best players in the league, the 31-year-old is averaging a near double-double with 23.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game while also adding five total steals through three contests. While the three-ball hasn’t been falling consistently — she’s just 1-for-10 from deep so far — Stewart continues to show her ability to create offense for herself and dominate inside the paint. On Tuesday against the Fire, the Liberty star finished with just 30 PRA, largely due to an off shooting night as Stewart scored only 16 points while hitting 33% of her shots from the field. If a few more attempts fall tonight, she should clear 34.5 PRA without much trouble.
