This is a significant loss for the Rockets as Durant has been the only reliable scoring option for the team this year. Durant averaged 26 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 52% from the field and 41.3% from deep this season. He’s appeared in one playoff game, scoring 23 points in 41 minutes in a Game 2 loss.
Alperen Sengun will take on a larger role as Houston trails 2-0 heading back home. The Los Angeles Lakers are still without Luka Doncic, while Austin Reaves is questionable.
Following the news of Durant’s injury, the Rockets are now 6.5-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Lakers are +180 underdogs, with the game total set at 205.5.
