(stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)
Victor Wembanyama First Point Scorer (+282): This has always been a popular bet. Like, throughout the entire season, and it’s not very hard to see why. Wembanyama has started 63 games in 2025-26 — 55 in the regular season and eight in the playoffs. He’s registered the game’s first point in a whopping 25.4% of those contests, which is easily the highest rate of any player on Friday’s slate. It’s a combination of two factors. First and foremost, Wembanyama’s incredible height and length give him a major advantage at the opening tip, which in turn, often gives the Spurs the night’s first possession. On top of that, Wemby sports a team-high 28.7% usage rate in the first quarter of playoff matchups. It all makes sense.
Anthony Edwards 25+ Ponts (-152): Edwards’ performance in Game 5 was very curious. Back in the starting lineup, Edwards averaged 34.0 points between Game 3 and Game 4, a relatively normal showing for a man who finished the regular season ranked third in the league in points per contest (28.8). However, on Tuesday, the former first-overall pick managed just 20 points. It wasn’t like it was due to script or lack of efficiency, either. Even in a 29-point blowout, Edwards logged 39.2 minutes of action. He shot 6-for-13 from the field. It’s just that his 21.9% usage rate ranked behind both Julius Randle and Jaden McDaniels. The Spurs are a powerhouse defensive team. They can scheme up nightmare scenarios for Edwards. That said, in a do-or-die Game 6, I’d expect Edwards will go down swinging. I’d be shocked if we don’t see at least 20 shots on Friday.
Max Strus Under 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-142): To me, there’s two things to think about with this prop. First, Strus is a naturally gifted shooter, and we all saw that on display on Wednesday, when he canned six of his eight attempts from beyond the arc. Yes, that was the first time the wing cleared this prop since Game 1, but it’s not like a cold spell is going to cause Strus to become humble with his trigger. That leads me to point No. 2. Since the start of Game 2, 24 of Strus’ 28 field goal attempts are from distance. That’s an 85.7% ratio. When I start to shift my perspective to that stat, I get uncomfortable with this prop. Do I really think max Strus isn’t going to make three field goals in Game 6? Because that’s basically what this bet is, with that specific shot profile.
Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a parlay and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together — feel free to tag along.
