The Devil Wears Prada 2 made an estimated $77 million at the box office between May 1 and May 3. That is quite the step up from The Devil Wears Prada, which made $27.5 million in its opening weekend en route to a $124.7 million domestic gross in the summer of 2006. Adjusted for inflation, the first film effectively opened to $45 million and finished around $205 million domestically.
According to Deadline and Variety, The Devil Wears Prada 2 made $10.0 million in Thursday night previews on April 30. That cash is counted as part of the film’s $32.5 million Friday gross. The Devil Wears Prada 2 now owns the No. 4 domestic opening weekend of 2026 so far, trailing only The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Michael and Project Hail Mary.
Looking beyond the United States and Canada, The Devil Wears Prada 2 reeled in an additional $156.6 million overseas. In total, the film grossed a projected $233.6 million worldwide over its opening weekend. That is good for the second-largest global opening of the year, settling in between Mario and Michael The original film grossed $326 million globally during its initial theatrical release back in 2006.
