This is a massive tournament for England. The Three Lions found real stability and had some fantastic finishes under Gareth Southgate. They made the World Cup semi-finals in 2018 and the quarter-finals in 2022. England also made the final at each of the past two Euros. Those are all excellent results, but they still haven’t broken through and won the World Cup. My best bet is on England to win this match. This is a highly anticipated matchup between two nations with great recent histories at major tournaments. However, England just has more quality in their team. Harry Kane is the most dangerous goalscoring threat on the pitch. Also, the midfield of Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice and Elliot Anderson has the ability to control the flow of the match and not get overrun by Modric and Kovacic. Thomas Tuchel should win his first World Cup match in charge of England.
