It’s time to see who claims the crown in King of the Course! You asked for it, we answered. DraftKings Sportsbook is running back the King of the Course promotion this week for the third major of the year at Shinnecock Hills.
This Thursday and Friday, $1,000,000 in bonus bets will be split and distributed to users who opt in and place an outright winner bet on the golfer who ultimately leads the first two rounds in birdies or better!

My pick for this week’s DraftKings King of the Course is Cameron Young. Young is from New York and grew up playing on courses like Shinnecock Hills. He proved that he plays his best in front of his home crowd at last year’s Ryder Cup on Long Island. He gained a lot of momentum at that Ryder Cup and has not slowed down in 2026. After only winning once in his career on the PGA TOUR prior to this year, Young has won twice in 2026. Both came at massive events, the Cadillac Championship and THE PLAYERS. Young also came in third place at Augusta National earlier this year. He is ready to break through and win his first major, and he has a real shot to do so at Shinnecock Hills.
Cameron Young ranks sixth on the PGA TOUR in Strokes Gained: Total and Strokes Gained: Tee to Green. Young can hit the ball far and keep it straight. His iron play has also been excellent. Putting is not as important as getting your approach shot to the correct part of the green at Shinnecock Hills. A below-average putter who is working on the correct tier and slope of the green will have more success than an above-average putter on the wrong side of the hole. That is good news for Young, who ranks sixth on the PGA TOUR in proximity and has great approach numbers from all different distances.
Cameron Young ranks fifth on the PGA TOUR in scoring average, including third in Par 3 scoring average and fourth in Par 4 scoring average. Young ranks 12th in birdie average this season, as well. If he can take advantage of the Par 5s, which he has the length to do, he is more than capable of tallying more birdies and eagles than anyone in the field over the first two days of this tournament.
