Best NBA Playoffs player prop bets for Thursday 4/23/26

Bryan Armetta shares his three favorite player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Thursday’s three-game NBA playoffs slate.

The NBA playoffs roll on this evening with a jam-packed three-game slate. To kick things off, it’ll be a pivotal Game 3 in Atlanta when the Hawks host the Knicks. Elsewhere, the Cavaliers head to Toronto, looking to take a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Raptors. To cap things off, the Nuggets and Timberwolves will continue their hard-fought rivalry in Minneapolis.

Which players are worth consideration ahead of tonight’s primetime matchups? Here are my three favorite NBA prop bet picks on DraftKings Sportsbook for Thursday’s postseason contests.

Top NBA prop bet picks

Karl-Anthony Towns 21+ points (-114)

Among the many reasons for New York’s Game 2 collapse, the team went away from Karl-Anthony Towns on offense. The big man has been a willing passer, but he has a clear matchup advantage against the undersized Hawks. Despite a relative down year, KAT remains one of the NBA’s elite big men. Through 75 games, the center averaged 20.1 points, 11.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists. As always, he’s delivered solid shooting splits as well (50/37/86). So far in this series, Towns is shooting 56% from the field and 55.5% from three-point range.

KAT is, if nothing else, fairly consistent. Since March 15th, the All-Star has scored at least 20 points in eight of his 12 outings. The Hawks have struggled against opposing big men all season, including their previous matchups with New York. Towns has recorded at least 21 points in four of his last six meetings with Atlanta, including the postseason. Given New York’s offensive struggles on Monday, a change is needed in crunch time. With Jalen Brunson drawing double teams, feeding this talented seven-footer feels like the savvy move tonight.

Ja’Kobe Walter 2+ three-pointers made (-125)

The Raptors are desperate right now, looking for answers against the deep, dangerous Cavaliers. Uncertain health for Immanuel Quickley (hamstring) certainly hasn’t helped Toronto during this series. Regardless, it’s not as if this roster is completely bereft of scorers. Ja’Kobe Walter is a name that’s capable of putting up some buckets in a hurry. During Game 2, the former first-round pick tallied 14 points on five-of-nine shooting from the field (55.6%). However, his season-long numbers aren’t the most impressive (7.5 PPG, 2.8 REB, 1.2 AST).

If there’s one thing Walter does do exceptionally well, it’s spacing the floor. The guard shot 41% from three-point range on 3.7 attempts per game this season. It’s also worth mentioning that the Baylor alum saw major improvement in that category as the season went on. Over Walter’s last 12 regular season games, he connected on 46% of his three-point attempts. During that time, he hit at least two treys on nine different occasions. Cleveland’s perimeter defense is lackluster at best. The Cavaliers are giving up 14.1 three-pointers made per game to opponents, fifth-most in the NBA. Keeping that in mind, Walter is capable of making an impact from long distance tonight.

*Walter (illness) has been listed as questionable for Game 3

Jamal Murray 5+ rebounds (-123)

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more evenly-matched series than Denver vs. Minnesota. For the visiting Nuggets, earning a win would be quite the boost after blowing a sizable Game 2 lead. One player that’s brought his A-game in this series is Jamal Murray. The All-Star has already earned a reputation for showing up when the lights are brightest; this postseason is no exception. The guard has tallied exactly 30 points in each of his first two playoff appearances. With that being said, the Timberwolves are no slouches on defense. Some kind of adjustment feels almost inevitable from head coach Chris Finch.

Even if Murray is slightly less productive tonight as a scorer, he should continue to make an impact. That includes on the glass, where the Canadian’s contributions are somewhat underrated. He’s snagged at least 4.0 rebounds per game in six of his last seven regular seasons. In that regard, this matchup has been kind to the veteran as well. Including the playoffs, Murray has recorded at least five rebounds in five of his last six outings against Minnesota. As a unit, the Timberwolves are giving up 53.5 boards per game to opponents, 11th-most in basketball. Another solid rebounding day could be in the cards for Denver’s other superstar.
