Hall was left off the scoresheet in both Games 1 and 2, but he netted a goal in Game 3 and leads the Hurricanes in points this postseason (13). Despite logging the sixth-most total ice time among Carolina forwards, the veteran ranks first in points per 60, first in assists per 60 and second in goals per 60. He has notched eight total points across five postseason games thus far and still sees second-line minutes alongside Logan Stankoven and Jackson Blake, a line that has generated a 71.4% goal percentage and 10 total goals this postseason.
Caufield has been relatively quiet this postseason, at least offensively. The 25-year-old scored 51 goals during the regular season while averaging 3.2 shots and 5.7 shot attempts per game, but so far this postseason, he has scored five times while averaging 2.2 shots and 4.2 shot attempts per game. He has cleared this total just five times this postseason, with four of them coming in the second round against the Sabres. The Hurricanes are much better defensively than the Sabres, and they’ve allowed seven fewer high-danger chances against this postseason, despite playing two fewer games. Caufield has totaled just four combined shots on goal across the first three games, and Montreal has totaled a combined 25 shots on goal across the last two games.
