Guard

Stud

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers ($10,300)

I was initially going to go with Cade Cunningham here because he has the slightly higher ceiling and is more likely to triple-double. But, but, but….Cleveland did give him some problems during the regular season. In the first matchup, Cunningham shot 21% and finished with 24.2 FPTS. In the next three meetings, he put up over 40 FPTS in all with two over 50 FPTS but shot 31%, 52% and 25% from the field. The Lakers have been playing better defense as of late, but they have no one to shut down SGA. In three meetings with the Lakers during the regular season, SGA put up 54.2, 47.2 and 41.8 FPTS despite playing fewer than 30 minutes in all three contests. I’m not expecting a blowout in this one, so SGA should play over 30 minutes and produce plenty of fantasy goodies.

Other Options: Cade Cunningham ($10,900)

Value

Ajay Mitchell, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers ($5,500)

With Jalen Williams out last series, Mitchell started the last two games and put up 25.5 and 36.5 FPTS. The usage rate was in the 26% range and Mitchell attempted 16 and 20 shots. The defensive contributions are lacking, but Mitchell provides a healthy amount of rebounds and assists to go along with the points. He should be heavily involved once again.

Other Options: Duncan Robinson ($4,400), Daniss Jenkins ($3,600)

Forward

Stud

LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers at Oklahoma City Thunder ($9,300)

During the regular season, James garnered a usage rate around 28%. With Luka Doncic out, that number has spiked to around 33%. The Thunder are a great defensive team, but James is still able to play at a high level and produce fantasy goodies due to his all-around game. With no Jalen Williams, the task is a smidge easier for James. In the series against Houston, James put up over 50 FPTS in each of the first three games with a high of 61.8 FPTS. Adjustments were made and James finished the series with 24.5, 42.2 and 48.2 FPTS, but he should be refreshed and recharged for Game 1.

Other Options: Chet Holmgren ($7,500), Tobias Harris ($7,100)

Value

Max Strus, Cleveland Cavaliers at Detroit Pistons ($4,400)

The range of outcomes is wide for Strus, especially since the playing time has been all over the map. In the first round series with Toronto, Strus played over 30 minutes only once while receiving fewer than 25 minutes three times. He had one single-digit FPTS game, finished in the teens three times and went for at least 30 FPTS twice. Shrug. Your guess is as good as mine. That said, he does have the ability to stuff the stat sheet and access a ceiling.

Other Options: Rui Hachimura ($5,100)

Center

Stud

Jalen Duren, Detroit Pistons vs. Cleveland Cavaliers ($6,900)

Duren was having a mediocre series against Orlando, finishing with fewer than 30 FPTS in six games with two of those under 20 FPTS. In the deciding Game 7, though, Duren put up 40.8 FPTS to help lead the Pistons to the next round. Wendell Carter Jr. gave him problems the whole series with his physicality and agility. During the regular season, Duren had success against Jarrett Allen and the Cavaliers, going for 45 and 67 FPTS in the last two meetings.

Other Options: NA

Value

Isaiah Hartenstein, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers ($5,300)

Hartenstein put up 40 FPTS last game in 29 minutes. I’m not expecting anything close to that production in this one, as he will likely play in the low-20s and finish around 20 FPTS. There are just a few cheap options at the position, so Hartenstein it is. A ringing endorsement!

Other Options: NA
