Fantasy Golf Picks: Best Cash Game Plays for the Traveler...
Zach Thompson · 2026-06-25 · via DraftKings Network

Zach Thompson gets you set for the Travelers Championship this week with his top fantasy golf cash game picks on DraftKings.

The PGA TOUR is at TPC River Highlands for the last Signature Event of the year. This week’s Travelers Championship is a no-cut, 72-player event, which isn’t going to be a thing in the near future, based on the latest announcements of the PGA TOUR’s scheduling plan going forward. This year, though, once again all 72 players will get in four rounds, barring withdrawal or disqualification. For this week’s tournament, DraftKings has a wide range of contests available, including some excellent cash game opportunities. In this post, I’ll focus on three solid cash game plays for conservative lineups that are designed to produce in cash games. My three top fantasy golf cash plays to consider are Matt Fitzpatrick ($10,000), Brian Harman ($7,800) and J.T. Poston ($7,500).

Make sure to also check out my top-three pivot plays for tournament lineups for the Travelers Championship if you’re looking for some less popular, under-the-radar picks. Pivot plays for tournament lineups are usually more aggressive, while fantasy golf cash game picks are safer with higher floors and lower risk. The picks in this post generally have higher ownership than my pivot plays, but they are good selections for contests where the uniqueness of your lineup is less important. Think of cash game picks as lying back and playing a par 5 as it was designed, taking three shots before reaching the green, searching for a solid birdie. Tournament picks are like going driver off the deck to try to reach the green in two — more reward if it works, but much more risk, as well.

Matt Fitzpatrick ($10,000)

The top section of this field is fully loaded with superstars to spend on, and one of the most consistent options lately has been Matt Fitzpatrick. He is a little less popular than the most well-known options, but he brings lots of upside at this salary. He already won a Signature Event this season, defeating Scottie Scheffler ($13,800) in a playoff at the RBC Heritage. Both Signature Event hosts are par-70 tracks that emphasize short game accuracy, so there are some correlations to consider.

Fitzpatrick leads the field in Strokes Gained: Approach and Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green over the last six months and ranks third in Total Strokes Gained. Since this is a shorter layout overall, many of the approach shots are shorter as well, with work around the green especially important.

The 31-year-old picked up a win last November at the DP World Tour Championship and has been on a heater since then. He has won three times on the PGA TOUR in his 15 tournaments in 2026. In addition to the RBC Heritage, he won the Valspar Championship and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. He helped his brother, Alex Fitzpatrick ($7,700), earn a full-time PGA TOUR card with that victory. On top of those important wins, Fitz added a top 10 at the WM Phoenix Open, a runner-up at THE PLAYERS Championship, and top-25 finishes at each major championship.

He can thrive in this format and this kind of field, but he hasn’t had as much success at this specific course. He did post a personal-best T-17 last year at the Travelers, although he hasn’t yet been in contention on a Sunday. With all his momentum, though, he brings both a high floor and a high ceiling to Cromwell this week.

Brian Harman ($7,800)

Due to the style of the course and its emphasis on accuracy and precision rather than power, solid ball-strikers like Harman have had success through the years. Lefties like Harman have a strong history here, and they may have a shot-shaping advantage since famous lefties Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson each thrived here over the years.

Harman himself has also put together a remarkable history here, even though he has not won at this course. The veteran finished in the top 10 in each of the last five years, including a runner-up in 2023 and a solo eighth finish last season. He has eight career top-10 finishes at this course, and all eight of those high finishes have come in the last 11 years.

He doesn’t come in with nearly as much form as Fitzpatrick, but he did make the cut and finish T-32 at the U.S. Open last week. It was a solid rebound performance for him after missing the cut at the Memorial, which snapped a streak of 11 straight made cuts with four top-25 finishes, including a T-25 at the RBC Heritage.

Even though his form isn’t sparkling, his course history gives him a high enough floor to make him a good play for fantasy golf cash games this week.

J.T. Poston ($7,500)

In 2022, J.T. Poston finished runner-up alongside Sahith Theegala ($7,700) at the Travelers Championship. Poston hasn’t had a top-40 in his three appearances since then, but he is playing some of the best golf of his career as he makes his return to TPC River Highlands. Poston is a plodder who is typically consistent enough to be a good fit for this format.

Earlier this month, Poston won the most recent Signature Event at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club. After opting out of the RBC Canadian Open, he continued his strong form with a T-4 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. His closing-round 67 helped him climb all the way into the top five, while he finished in the top 10 for the week in Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green and Strokes Gained: Putting. Those short-game skills should serve him well this week as well.

Over the last 30 days, he is fourth in this strong field in Strokes Gained: Putting and 19th in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green. Even before his win, he was having a solid season. He has four top-25 finishes in his last eight events, including his big win just a few weeks ago. The 33-year-old also has four PGA TOUR wins in his career and if he stays hot, he could be near the top of the leaderboard again this week.
