Alex Hunter provides his top golf bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club.
Aronimink Golf Club (par 70, 7,394 yards, bentgrass greens) in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, is hosting the PGA Championship for the first time since 1976. Aronimink also hosted the BMW Championship in 2018 and the AT&T National in 2010 and 2011. There will be 156 players competing at the PGA Championship this week and there will be a top-70 and ties cut following the first two rounds.
Below, I have featured my two favorite bets for the PGA Championship on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Reed has been exceptional in 2026. The 35-year-old can’t return to the PGA TOUR until late August due to his suspension, so Reed has been competing on the DP World Tour this season and in his six starts on the circuit, Reed has won twice and finished runner-up once. The former Georgia Bull Dog hasn’t finished worse than T-29 in his six starts on the DP World Tour and he leads the league in Race to Dubai points by a comfortable margin.
On top of his outstanding play overseas, Reed finished T-12 at the Masters last month. This is the last time he competed, so Reed has had more than a month to prepare for this week’s PGA Championship at Aronimink. Reed teed it up at the 2018 BMW Championship played at Aronimink and he finished T-19 that week, including a 6-under 64 in the third round. Aronimink was designed by Donald Ross and Reed’s first career win came at the Ross-designed Sedgefield CC. The 2023 PGA Championship was also played at another Ross creation in Oak Hill Country Club and Reed finished T-18 at that major.
Reed knows how to navigate Ross designs well and these +215 odds don’t reflect the likelihood of him finishing inside the top-20 this weekend. In 12 starts at the PGA Championship, Reed has finished inside the top-20 five times.
McCarty has been on a tear, making six straight cuts and finishing inside the top-12 at four consecutive events. In his last two, McCarty has finished T-9 at the Cadillac Championship and T-10 at the Truist Championship, both of which are Signature Events that feature world-class fields like he will face at the PGA Championship this week.
McCarty gained strokes on approach and with his putter at both those Signature Events, and he has shot under par in 10 of his past 12 solo rounds. McCarty has moved himself up 13 spots in the world golf rankings in the new year and he is a strong match for Aronimink.
McCarty has thrived in his two career starts at a Ross course, finishing T-19 at Detroit Golf Club and T-8 at Sedgefield CC, both of which came last season. McCarty gained an excellent 2.24 strokes per round across these two starts, which ranks first among this field when we compare all these player’s histories at Ross courses. Another great sign for this week is that McCarty ranks 17th in three-putt avoidance this season, as the greens are so large and complex at Aronimink that avoiding three putts will be huge in climbing up the leaderboard.
