Victor Wembanyama best prop bets for WCF Game 2 Spurs at ...

Bill Yin highlights top prop bets for Victor Wembanyama for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Thunder will take on the Spurs once again tonight for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. The Spurs drew first blood by stealing Game 1 behind a massive game from Victor Wembanyama, who posted 41 points, 24 rebounds, and three blocks on 14/25 shooting. It was an incredible outing from one of the game’s youngest and brightest. The third year MVP candidate was dominant last game and is currently making his case as one of, if not the, best player in the league.

Wembanyama is averaging 22.2 PPG, 11.9 RPG, and 4 BPG in his first-ever playoff run. He’ll look to continue the rampage tonight against the defending champions in his quest to capture his first NBA title.

Here are some of the best Victor Wembanyama prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for tonight’s matchup:

Best James Harden Prop Bets

Over 13.5 Rebounds (-135):

The Thunder’s strategy of sticking Alex Caruso, a much shorter albeit stockier defender, on Wemby made sense on paper. They stuck Caruso on Jokic in previous matchups. Despite the size disadvantage, the quick hands and high defensive IQ of Caruso can bother bigger offensive players, especially when Caruso can drop low and cut off low passes and sit in annoying positions. There’s also some room to cheat the rules a bit, as referees are less likely to call fouls against Caruso given the size disadvantage.

The issue for the Thunder is that Caruso will concede a massive rebounding disadvantage. We saw this on full display in Game 1, with Wemby going for a monstrous 24 boards with nine of them being offensive. Isaiah Hartenstein saw only 12 minutes of play, and I’d assume that Mark Daigneault plans to put Hart back in there to help stabilize the Thunder’s already-weak rebounding a bit. OKC’s pretty good and is a complete team across the board, but in the regular season they conceded 54.1 RPG to opponents, the tenth worst mark in the league. If OKC continues to let Wemby dominate the glass, they lose out on too many second chance opportunities and will struggle to gain possessions in this series. If OKC continues using Caruso as Wemby’s primary defender, they risk easy baskets near the rim and big rebounding numbers for Wemby. Either way, Over 13.5 seems like a safe bet against a team that’s already weak on the glass.

Under 3.5 Blocks (-166):

Wemby failed to record four blocks in Game 1. We saw OKC continuously drive into the paint, run into Wemby, and pass the ball back out, dissuaded from attempting anything near the rim. His mere presence provides rim protection. Teams are hesitant to attack him, and understandably so. He’s led the league in BPG for three consecutive years now, with this season being his lowest with 3.1 BPG.

Despite his ability to generate blocks easily, teams simply just don’t take shots near him now. In 48 minutes of play time in Game 1, Wemby only had three but was still able to contest plenty of shots, causing OKC’s offense to become terribly inefficient. I’m expecting another strong defensive game from Wemby tonight, even if the blocks don’t reflect his defensive impact directly.
