Ascending lightweights collide on Saturday, as Nazim Sadykhov faces Matheus Camilo at UFC Baku. 

Sadykhov (11–2–1, 4–1–1 UFC) is coming off his first loss since his professional debut, suffering a second-round TKO defeat at the hands — or, should I say, elbows — of Fares Ziam in December. Camilo (10–3, 1–1 UFC) looks to build off his first Octagon win, besting Viacheslav Borshchev via unanimous decision in November. 

Sadykhov enters as a -192 moneyline favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook. Camilo is a +160 underdog, with the fight total set at O/U 2.5 rounds.

Nazim Sadykhov — born in Russia and raised in Azerbaijan — returns to his hometown of Baku after getting pieced up by Fares Ziam, stopped by a thunderstorm of elbows in the second round of their December bout. The defeat snapped a 12-fight unbeaten streak, dating back to his professional debut in 2018.

In between, the 32-year-old “Black Wolf” graduated from Dana White’s Contender Series and hit the ground running in the UFC. The daring kickboxer with strong freestyle grappling has already collected three Fight of the Night bonuses in just five trips to the Octagon. That includes his latest win, a second-round TKO of Nikolas Motta in June 2025 — in Baku.

Matheus Camilo

Matheus Camilo is coming off his first UFC win, but he’s still got plenty to prove. Back in November, the 25-year-old Brazilian put his BJJ brown belt on full display in a unanimous decision win over Viacheslav Borshchev. But his striking remained a cause for concern; he got outpaced and outstruck by nearly double throughout the three-round clash. 

“Jaguar” is at his best when he’s hunting for takedowns, landing five of his ten entries on Borshchev. However, he’s vulnerable to scrambles and reversals. In his debut against  Gabe Green, who was on a two-fight skid, Camilo gassed himself out with an attempted triangle choke, surrendered his back, and tapped to a rear-naked choke — his third career loss by submission.

What better place to bounce back than in your backyard? With homecourt advantage, a wealth of Octagon experience, and far more finishing upside, Sadykhov appears primed to get back in the win column against the unproven Camilo. The “Black Wolf” takes pride in sending the fans home happy — having gone to a decision only once in his career — and should follow suit with his 11th career stoppage on Saturday night.
