Some of the best value on the board today comes by way of Carolina standout Taylor Hall. The 2010 No. 1 pick maintains the team lead with 17 points this postseason on six goals and 11 assists, the latter stat of which ties for the team high with linemate Jackson Blake. What’s interesting is that the pair form two-thirds of the Hurricanes’ most productive forward line along with Logan Stankoven, who has a team-best 10 goals as well. Taking any of them to produce points makes sense tonight, but I particularly like Hall to get an assist at +170 odds. He’s notched seven primary assists during this run, which is the most of any Hurricanes skater as well. With close to 17 minutes of action a night on the team’s best line throughout the postseason, plus a role on the second power-play unit, Hall could easily tally a helper tonight to make this prop pay off.
The situation in net for Carolina is uncertain after a struggling Frederik Andersen was pulled in Game 3 for Brandon Bussi in the third period and beyond. In the opposite goal, Carter Hart continues to start for Vegas. We’re targeting the under on 26.5 saves for him tonight for a couple reasons. For starters, he’s gone under this line twice in these three Cup Final games, logging 22 and 25 saves in the first two outings. One of those also included overtime, and in Game 3, Hart was also under this line at the end of regulation as he saved just 21-of-25 looks he faced prior to the extra periods. With an .865 SV%, he’s regressed hard this series and is facing an excellent offense. Likewise, the Hurricanes have mustered up much lower shot volume in this series in comparison to the rest of their postseason sample, which also helps — especially if there’s no overtime. After cooling off recently, we’re fading Hart here tonight.
