(Stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)
Yordan Alvarez 1+ Home Run (+194): Alvarez is second in the majors with 24 homers, and he’s getting plenty of attention from the public in his Sunday afternoon matchup against Slade Cecconi of the Guardians, even though his odds are very short. He hasn’t homered since last Friday, when he hit a pair of homers in the first inning against the Royals, but he has still been making good contact, connecting on four barrels in his seven games since then. He has an 18.6% barrel rate and 53.5% hard-hit rate, and he has 16 of those 24 homers against righties. Cecconi has served up 11 homers in his 15 starts, including one in each of his last two outings. Lefties have hit five of those homers, and the public thinks Yordan is due to go deep.
Brandon Lowe 1+ Home Run (+276): Lowe isn’t a regular in these most-bet props like Yordan and Shohei, but he gets his spot here on Sunday since he’s playing at Coors Field. Lowe is hitting .245 with 18 homers in his first season with Pittsburgh, posting a .270 ISO and .361 wOBA. He has three long balls in his last nine games with a 52.2% hard-hit rate and 13% barrel rate. He’s 5-for-15 in his last four games but has an 80% hard-hit rate during that short span. He’ll be going against Michael Lorenzen of the Rockies at Coors Field on Sunday afternoon, and Lorenzen has allowed 12 homers in his 16 games this season, including nine to lefties like Lowe. Lowe is 3-for-10 with a double and a homer in the past against Lorenzen and should be in a good spot Sunday in the rarified air of Denver.
Shohei Ohtani 1+ Home Run (+212): Ohtani was on the paternity list on Friday for the birth of his second child, so his hitting a homer on Father’s Day would be a nice play from Narrative St. He homered in his return on Saturday, and he has six homers in his last 10 games with multiple at-bats. Over that span, he has a 59.3% hard-hit rate and a 29.6% barrel rate. The Dodgers and O’s split the first two games of the series, and on Sunday, Shohei will go up against Brandon Young, who has given up six homers in 11 starts, with lefties like Shohei hitting four of those dingers. With Ohtani finding his power stroke, he’s up to 16 homers on the year, and his current form and a favorable hitting environment at Dodger Stadium make him one of the most popular prop plays of the day.
Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a same game parlay (SGP) and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together — feel free to tag along.
