Blake Krass shares his top fantasy baseball Pick6 picks and plays for the Friday MLB slate. Check ’em out here!
The MLB season is humming along. There are far more ways to get involved in the action than just via traditional betting. One of the more unique features on DraftKings this year is Pick6 Fantasy Baseball!
Here are my top Pick6 plays for today’s MLB slate.

Paul Skenes has been incredibly sharp since his rough season opener against the Mets. In his last four starts, he has a 1.27 ERA and has not given up more than one earned run in any of those starts. Despite limiting the runs, Skenes has not been quite up to his Cy Young standards in terms of going deep into games. He has averaged just 4.13 innings of work this season across his five starts. The strikeout numbers have also been way down for Skenes. He is averaging just 9.4 K/9, down a whole strikeout per nine innings from last year. Between the average strikeout numbers being lower and the limited innings, Skenes has yet to throw more than six strikeouts in a game this season. This doesn’t seem like the spot to do it on the road in Milwaukee, either. The Brewers have a solid lineup, ranking eighth in the MLB in runs scored this season. They have only struck out 198 times this season, also the eighth-best mark in baseball. Skenes should struggle to strike these guys out, and if his start is once again a short one, he will stay under this number for the sixth straight outing.

Shohei Ohtani has been relatively quiet this season by his standards. He has been superb on the mound, but not up to Ohtani-level at the plate. He still has an .812 OPS this season, but that would be by far the worst mark of his career if sustained over a full season. This series opener against the Cubs at Dodger Stadium is a great time for Ohtani to get hot. He is facing Jameson Taillon, a pitcher he has crushed in the past. In 10 career at-bats against Taillon, Ohtani has a 1.462 OPS. Taillon had a good outing in his most recent start against the Mets while they were in the midst of their dreadful slump. However, he gave up six runs to the Pirates in his start prior to that. Taillon has struggled against lefties so far this season, allowing an opponent OPS of .841 against left-handed batters. Shohei Ohtani has a great chance to unlock his power in this game against Taillon. Thanks to this DraftKings Pick6 promo pick, all you need is for Ohtani to register a base hit for this pick to win.

Brandon Nimmo has had an excellent start to his Rangers career. Nimmo spent his entire career with the Mets prior to this season and was always a streaky hitter. He could get into deep slumps, but when he was hot, he was one of the most reliable bats on the team. Nimmo has started this season on one of those hot streaks and has yet to cool down. That makes it an ideal time to back him to keep it going, especially against Luis Severino. Nimmo has been excellent over the years against his former Mets teammate. Nimmo is 5/10 with a 1.615 OPS in his career against Severino. Severino has really struggled this season, with a 6.20 ERA through five starts. Nimmo should be able to generate an extra-base hit or multiple hits in this game to get over this total bases figure.
Pick6 is a peer-to-peer fantasy variant where you build a lineup (your “Pick Set”) of 2+ players and select whether or not you believe each will outperform their listed stat projection. Enter your Pick Set in Pick6 contests to compete against other users. Get enough picks correct and win a share of cash prizes.
Create a Pick Set by choosing 2+ players from the same sport and Pick Group (a set of picks available from a group of competitions). For each player, simply select if you think they’ll have more or less than their listed stat projection. In each Pick Set, you can not pick the same player twice, and you must pick players from at least two different teams.
Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.
When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.
Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
