Everything You Need to Know Before From Episode 9 Season 4
With so much anticipation building throughout all this set up, there’s one major thing that’s been accomplished going into Season 4’s penultimate episode and the finale: It genuinely feels like anyone could die.
- Man in Yellow / Sophia – The Man in Yellow finally showed himself, surprising Tabitha and confirming that the townsfolk are going down a path that no prior group has taken. He also spoke to Tabitha in a very odd way, talking like she, Jade and the Man in Yellow are old friends. Not the first villain to do this, but it makes me wonder about him. Has he worked purely as a source of evil or more as a twisted gamemaster of sorts?
- Side note: I’ve been wondering if people would figure out Sophia’s true identity all season. To that end, the Man in Yellow hummed as he walked away from Tabitha. If Sophia does that same thing around Tabitha, don’t be shocked if something comes of it.
- Jade – Nothing would get done if not for this guy. Funny how he used to feel so condescending, yet now Jade is the only one who’s on the audience’s level. But all the frustration seems to be paying off: Jade finally has a plan to retrieve the bones.
- Henry – This poor guy. He didn’t stand a chance. Whether or not he manages to “eliminate the anchor,” that’s supposedly keeping him in this world, there’s no way he survives these next few episodes. Let’s just hope no one else (i.e. Victor) goes down with him.
- Fatima – She’s either a zombie of sorts or morphed into a golem — maybe both. Let’s hope Mari is right that this is a good thing. As much as I don’t wanna see Fatima go down, she’s as deserving of a hero’s death as anyone.
- Tabitha and Boyd – These two didn’t spend any time together this episode, but they were both massive sources of frustration. That’s not the norm for Boyd, but it certainly is for Tabitha. Regardless, it feels like they both got what they needed to snap out of it going into the next episode.
