Blake Krass takes you through his 2026 French Open best bets for Monday, 5/25, on both the men’s and women’s side.
The best players in the world are all at Roland-Garros for the 2026 French Open. It should be an incredible tournament in Paris on both the men’s and women’s sides.
These are my French Open best bets to target on DraftKings Sportsbook for Monday.
Rafael Jodar has been the breakout star of the clay season. In his first season as a professional tennis player, he has already won his first ATP title. He won that title at the Grand Prix Hassan II to open the clay season. He followed that up by taking down Cameron Norrie and making the semifinals at the Barcelona Open. In Madrid, he registered the first top-10 win of his career over Alex de Minaur, and he also beat fellow phenom Joao Fonseca to make the quarterfinals, where he lost to Jannik Sinner. It was another trip to the quarterfinals for Jodar in Rome prior to this tournament. Jodar has proven he can compete among the best in the world on clay, despite being just 19 years of age.
Aleksander Kovacevic has not proven the ability to do the same over his career. He was knocked out of the Australian Open in straight sets by Tommy Paul in the opening round earlier this year. He should fall in straight sets again in this second major of the year. In nine career trips to a main draw at a Grand Slam, Kovacevic has only made it out of the first round once, at the 2024 Australian Open. Kovacevic has always been a much better player on hardcourt. His nine career ATP Tour and ATP Challenger Tour finals have all come on hard. The young clay specialist should take him down in straight sets on Monday.
Iva Jovic is another bright teenager rising to the top of the sport. It seems remarkable that Rafael Jodar has risen to the No. 29 player in the world at just 19 years old, but Jovic is already the No. 17 player in the world at just 18 years old. Jovic will be taking on Alexandra Eala for the first time as she heads into her seventh career major. Jovic turned in by far her best career Grand Slam performance earlier this year by making the Australian Open quarterfinals. Between that performance and making a run to the final at the Hobart International in January, Jovic started the year by proving she is among the best players in the world.
Now, Jovic hopes to prove she can make the same run on clay that she did on hardcourt in Australia. Jovic started the clay season by making the semifinals in Charleston. She also made the Round of 16 in Rome before losing to Coco Gauff. Alexandra Eala is a tough young opponent, but she has only one career match win at a Grand Slam. Iva Jovic should take care of her in straight sets to start her Roland-Garros campaign.
