Cooper Albers shares his top player prop bets for Sunday’s MLB slate.
All 30 MLB clubs are in action on Sunday, bringing plenty of star power and value across the board.
Let’s dive into three of the strongest player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Ascendant New York slugger Ben Rice went O-fer on Saturday — big whoop. The All-Star hopeful, tasked with helping carry the offense as Aaron Judge nurses a rib injury, hasn’t gone hitless in back-to-back games since May 25. That next night, Rice went 3-for-5 with four total bases in a 13–4 thumping of the Royals.
Friday’s series opener against the Reds saw Rice crush his 21st home run of the season, tied for fourth-most in the majors. He should wreak havoc on the bases once again in the series finale, facing Cincinnati fireballer Chase Burns. While the star right-hander boasts a 2.01 ERA and gaudy strikeout numbers this season, Rice likely won’t flinch; he’s already 1-for-3 with an interstellar rocket in past meetings with Burns.
Logan Gilbert’s home/road splits in 2026 could give someone whiplash. But whether he’s getting shelled in Seattle or looking like a Cy Young contender anywhere else, the All-Star righty’s strikeout numbers remain elite across the board.
Gilbert heads into Sunday’s home matchup with the Red Sox, flashing a first-rate 9.87 K/9 this season at T-Mobile Park. He’s also coming off a seven-inning, 10-strikeout masterclass against an Orioles team that had already faced him a week prior. The 6-foot-6 hurler has recorded seven or more punchouts in six starts this season — including two of his last three — and should follow suit against a lifeless Boston lineup that ranks 28th in wRC+ this season with a middling strikeout rate.
If baseballs could dream, their nightmare fuel would likely come in the form of Yordan Alvarez. Not only has the Astros superstar emerged as the American League MVP frontrunner, but he’s also flirting with the triple crown — hitting .320 with a 1.054 OPS, 24 home runs, and 55 RBIs through 77 games in 2026.
Although he’s only hit four home runs since the calendar flipped to June, Alvarez is having one of his most dominant months of the season. With a .385 average and a 1.067 OPS, the lefty slugger has driven in 16 runs while coming around to score 13 times of his own.
Given his recent form, Alvarez brings tremendous value to record three or more combined hits, runs, and RBIs — a feat accomplishable with one mighty swing of the bat — in Sunday’s series finale against the Guardians. Cleveland right-hander Slade Cecconi has struggled this season, holding a 4.60 ERA over 15 starts (78.1 IP) with troubling strikeout, chase, and whiff rates. He’s also been taken deep in back-to-back outings.
