Blake Krass shares his top fantasy baseball Pick6 picks and plays for the Thursday slate. Check ’em out here!
The MLB season is rolling along. There are far more ways to get involved in the action than just via traditional betting. One of the more unique features on DraftKings this year is Pick6 Fantasy Baseball!
Here are my top Pick6 plays for today’s MLB slate.

Daulton Varsho is having a solid season at the plate. He has a .265 batting average and a .751 OPS. He has a 112 wRC+ this season, making him firmly above replacement level as a hitter. Varsho should be able to show off his bat against Chris Bassitt and the Orioles tonight. Bassitt has had a rough season on the mound, sporting a 5.51 ERA and 1.67 WHIP. Those rank 114th and 123rd, respectively, out of 130 pitchers to throw at least 40 innings this season. Bassitt is allowing an OPS of .917 against lefties this season as well. Varsho is 1-for-3 with a home run in his career against Bassitt and should hit him hard tonight.

In terms of OPS, 2025 was Pete Alonso’s best season at the plate since his rookie year in 2019. This has been his first season not in a Mets uniform, and it has been a test for the slugger. If he stays on this current pace, it would be the worst season of his career by OPS. He still shows flashes of his amazing power, but has struggled with consistency at the plate. This is a great game for him to show off some of that power against Patrick Corbin.
Alonso and Corbin are very familiar with each other from their days in the NL East together. Alonso has 52 career at-bats against Corbin. He has a .365 batting average and a 1.172 OPS, which includes five home runs, over that large sample size. Corbin is having a solid season, but he still gives up a lot of contact. Corbin is vastly overperforming in terms of runs allowed based on the contact he is giving up. He has a 3.86 ERA, but a 5.37 xERA. Corbin is due for some negative regression, so Alonso should hit him hard in this game.

Paul Skenes has not quite been Paul Skenes as of late. He has given up a total of nine runs across his past two starts. That makes it three starts this season in which he has given up four or more earned runs. He only did that four times across his 32 starts last season and has already done it three times in just 11 starts this year. That being said, his stuff is clearly still there. Skenes has just given up a couple of uncharacteristic long-balls over his last couple of starts. Skenes has struck out at least seven batters in five of his past six starts and should hit that number against the Cubs today. He is not walking batters, causing him to lead the MLB in WHIP and K/BB ratio. The Cubs are around league-average in strikeouts, ranking 16th in the MLB in total strikeouts this season. Skenes should deliver at least seven strikeouts against this lineup and get back on track.
Pick6 is a peer-to-peer fantasy variant where you build a lineup (your “Pick Set”) of 2+ players and select whether or not you believe each will outperform their listed stat projection. Enter your Pick Set in Pick6 contests to compete against other users. Get enough picks correct and win a share of cash prizes.
Create a Pick Set by choosing 2+ players from the same sport and Pick Group (a set of picks available from a group of competitions). For each player, simply select if you think they’ll have more or less than their listed stat projection. In each Pick Set, you can not pick the same player twice, and you must pick players from at least two different teams.
Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.
When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.
Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
