Cooper Albers selects three must-start fantasy baseball players for Sunday’s 9-game MLB DFS slate on DraftKings.
All 30 MLB clubs are in action on Sunday, highlighted by a nine-game afternoon slate loaded with firepower to fuel your DFS lineups.
From bona fide stars to stealthy value plays, let’s take a look at three must-starts for Sunday afternoon.
Set your DraftKings fantasy baseball lineups here before 1:35 p.m. ET: MLB $175K Bat Flip [$50K to 1st].
There’s the perennial Cy Young contender that we know and love. San Francisco’s Logan Webb has been untouchable of late, surrendering only two earned runs in his last four starts — holding a microscopic 0.66 ERA over those 27.1 innings.
The All-Star righty, 29, has completed at least seven frames in three straight starts for the Giants, clearing 25 FPTS in each outing. The torrid stretch is punctuated by back-to-back, eight-inning, seven-strikeout, no-walk gems against the Nationals and Cubs heading into Sunday afternoon.
The cerebral sinkerballer looks primed for another memorable performance against the Marlins, whose offense has hovered around the middle of the pack for much of the season — ranking 19th in wRC+, 14th in strikeout rate, and 27th in home runs. And even those numbers are bolstered by batted-ball windfall; Miami is third-to-last in MLB in barrel rate, xSLG, and xwOBA.
Chicago hasn’t seen a summer like this in quite some time. After a lethargic start to the season, Pete Crow-Armstrong has channeled prime Sammy Sosa since the beginning of June.
The star center fielder, 24, golfed one over the right-field wall on Saturday for his fourth home run in the last five games, and 16th overall. In his 17 games this month, no one in MLB has a higher batting average (.437), a loftier OPS (1.411), a portlier slugging percentage (.930), or more home runs (9) than PCA. Add to that 14 RBIs, 14 runs scored, and six stolen bases during that stretch.
On Sunday, Crow-Armstrong has a date with Toronto’s Dylan Cease ($10,100), who boasts a 2.71 ERA (3.02 xERA) this season and has been especially dominant of late. Still, PCA feeds off the Wrigley Field energy and has already found success against the star right-hander, going 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and a walk in their previous matchups.
There’s a legitimate case for Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter being the top platoon (bat) of June. In 15 games since the calendar flipped, the lefty slugger is hitting .262 with a .929 OPS, four home runs, and 12 RBIs.
That’s not to say that Carpenter, 28, hasn’t been a thorn in the side of opposite-handed hurlers all season. Indeed, he heads into Sunday with a remarkable .842 OPS — and all 10 of his homers — against righties in 2026, while also ranking in MLB’s top 20 percent in average exit velocity.
Carpenter is a dangerous matchup for White Sox starter Davis Martin ($8,700), who — despite sporting a career-best 3.31 ERA in 14 starts this season — has gotten tagged for four or more earned runs in three of his last five outings. That turbulent stretch is stamped with a nine-run thumping over 3.1 frames in his latest outing against the Yankees. Already 3-for-10 with a home run, a double, and two RBIs in his career against Martin, Carpenter is a strong value play for Sunday’s DFS slate.
