Theodore blocked a whopping seven shots in Game 1, and he has cleared this line in seven of 13 games this postseason. The Avalanche are tied with the Hurricanes for first in shots per game this postseason, and I’d expect even more offensive aggression from the club as it tries to tie the series at one apiece before it shifts to Vegas for Games 3 and 4. The veteran leads all skaters in blocked shots this postseason, as well, and he should continue to block shooting lanes tonight in Game 2. He also leads Vegas in total ice time.
Kadri logged five shots on goal and six shots on goal in Game 1. The veteran started to find his legs in the second round against the Wild, clearing this total in four of five games after logging just four total shots on goal across four first-round matchups. Kadri has simply been more aggressive offensively by getting pucks on net as often as possible, and Vegas has allowed the second-most total shots this postseason, behind only Montreal. He has found success against Vegas in the past, too, clearing 3+ SOG in 12 of his last 16 meetings and seven of his last nine when playing at home.
