Fantasy Golf Value Picks: Top DraftKings PGA TOUR DFS Bar...
Alex Hunter · 2026-05-19 · via DraftKings Network

Alex Hunter provides his top DraftKings fantasy golf value plays for the 2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch.

Next on the PGA TOUR schedule is the CJ CUP Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch (par 71, 7,385 yards, bentgrass greens) in McKinney, Texas. This will be the sixth straight season that TPC Craig Ranch has hosted the CJ CUP Byron Nelson. At this event a year ago, Scottie Scheffler (-31) ran away with an eight-shot win. There will be 147 golfers competing this week and a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.

TPC Craig Ranch is a long parkland course that presents wide fairways, large greens, 83 bunkers and water in play on eight holes. This track underwent a $25 million renovation following last year’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson, in an effort to make the course more challenging after Scheffler shot an absurd -31 here. The layout remains essentially the same, with just a few holes playing a little longer, but the fairways, rough and greens all have new grass and the putting surfaces were redesigned to become more complex.

The biggest differences we should see at TPC Craig Ranch this week is the rough being more penalizing and the greens being more challenging. While the winner is unlikely to crack 30 strokes again, we should still see low scoring at TPC Craig Ranch, with iron play and putting continuing to be the most important factors at this venue. Of the five winners at TPC Craig Ranch, three have finished the event top-13 in both SG APP and SGP. Par four play is also vital at this par 71, as four of the five victors at TPC Craig Ranch have finished the week top-five in par four scoring.

Let’s dive into three of my favorite DraftKings bargain plays for the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, which all cost less than $7.5K.

Top DraftKings PGA TOUR DFS Bargain Plays for the CJ CUP Byron Nelson

Adrien Dumont de Chassart ($7,400) – After a strong campaign on the Korn Ferry Tour last season, highlighted by a seven-stroke win at the Compliance Solutions Championship last October, Dumont de Chassart earned his PGA TOUR membership for 2026. The Belgian professional has been steady this season, making 9-of-11 cuts and carding seven finishes of T31st or better. Dumont de Chassart finished T31st at the Myrtle Beach Classic in his last start and he closed the event with a 4-under 67.

Dumont de Chassart gained strokes on approach and with his putter at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, and he ranks fourth in total strokes gained when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds. Dumont de Chassart finished T30th in his one start at TPC Craig Ranch two years ago and he has a great chance to best that performance this week, returning to the venue 37 spots higher in the world golf rankings.

Mark Hubbard ($7,200) – Hubbard has been great at TPC Craig Ranch. In his four starts at the par 71, Hubbard has finished T34th, T32nd, T52nd and T5th, with that final outing coming last season. The 36-year-old carded a pair of 6-under 65s at TPC Craig Ranch last year and Hubbard now returns to the Texas track fresh off a runner-up finish at the Myrtle Beach Classic, marking his fourth made cut in his last seven solo starts.

Hubbard gained strokes across the board at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, except around the greens. The veteran finished top-10 in both SG APP and SGP, and looking to build off this at TPC Craig Ranch, Hubbard could post another high finish.

Jhonattan Vegas ($7,000) – Following a questionable start to the season, Vegas has made four of his last five cuts, beginning this run with a T14 finish at the Houston Open. On top of this showing in the Lone Star State, Vegas just finished T44th at the PGA Championship last week and he did most of his damage over the weekend, shooting a 1-under 69 in each of his final two rounds at the challenging Aronimink GC.

Like most players, Vegas struggled with his putter on the complex putting surfaces at Aronimink, but Vegas’ ball striking was exceptional, leading the major field in SG APP. This is a very impressive feat and if the veteran can stay hot with his irons this week, Vegas should flourish at TPC Craig Ranch, which is a course he knows well. Vegas has made 3-of-4 cuts at this par 71, including a T9 in 2021 and a T13 last season. During that performance a year ago, the four-time PGA TOUR winner began the week with an 8-under 63 at TPC Craig Ranch.
