Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs managed to steal a game in Oklahoma City. They now own the home-court advantage over the rest of the Western Conference Finals. There should be an incredible crowd in San Antonio for the game, and the big Frenchman should feed off that crowd.

The Spurs enter Game 3 as 1.5-point favorites and hold -125 odds of winning outright on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Thunder are +105 to pull off the upset, with the game total set at 217.5 points.

It has been sensational to watch Victor Wembanyama over the first two games of this Western Conference Finals. It’s no secret that he is one of the most special players in the league. However, it is much different to prove how great you can be against the defending NBA champions in the conference finals. Wembanyama has more than exceeded expectations through the first two games of this series. He had one of the great performances in postseason history in Game 1, going for 41 points and 24 rebounds in the Spurs’ upset win. He followed that up with 21 points and 17 boards in Game 2.

My best bet for Game 3 is for Wembanyama to go over 14.5 rebounds once again. Wembanyama had 24 rebounds in Game 1 and 17 rebounds in Game 2. He also went over this number in four out of six games against the Timberwolves in the previous series, and in one of the games where he didn’t go over that number, he only played 12 minutes. So, Wembanyama has cleared this number in six of the past seven games in which he has played at least 20 minutes.

Nobody on the Thunder can match up with Victor Wembanyama physically. There are stretches of the game where he is being guarded by Alex Caruso, who is almost an entire foot shorter than him. While Caruso is a great defender, it is nearly impossible for him to rebound against Wembanyama. That has allowed the Frenchman to grab 14 offensive rebounds across the first two games of this series.

Following Game 2, there was a lot of discussion around the fact that Isaiah Hartenstein and the Thunder were allowed to be very physical with Victor Wembanyama. In Game 3, there could be some corrections with the officiating. This game will be played in front of the San Antonio crowd, which will have some influence on the referees as well. Wembanyama should have more freedom to move without getting held, which should only help him grab more rebounds. He seems unstoppable at the moment, so I’ll back him to keep putting up these massive rebound numbers.
