Apple Wallet got a lot of new features with iOS 26, but another key improvement is that car key support keeps expanding to more vehicle brands. Here are the recent and upcoming major car key launches.

Apple Wallet car keys now supported by Toyota and Rivian, with more major brands coming soon

Apple has long dreamed of its Wallet app replacing the physical wallet. But in some cases, progress has been slow due to needing support from third-party partners.

Car keys are a great example of that. The rollout of supported vehicles has taken years.

Last June, Apple announced that 13 vehicle brands had newly pledged to support car keys in Wallet.

It took longer than expected, but recently two of the biggest players on the list launched car keys.

  • Toyota
  • Rivian

Toyota started supporting Apple Wallet car keys in February with its first vehicle, the 2026 RAV4.

Rivian launched its own car key support in late December for the second-gen R1S and R1T.

Now, several more major automakers appear to be next:

  • Porsche
  • General Motors, including Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC

Porsche announced car key support launching in its 2026 electric Macan and Cayenne.

The Macan is available to order now for delivery this spring, while the new Cayenne will follow in the months ahead.

Last fall Apple added General Motors to its car key backend, signaling several vehicles would add support soon. Then in December, the automaker confirmed that car keys were on the way.

GM manages several vehicle brands, including three that Apple said would support car keys: Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC.

With plenty of additional brands on Apple’s list of upcoming partners, here’s hoping we see more launches happen before hitting the 1-year mark of Apple’s announcement at WWDC this June.
