Apple TV surveys subscribers about content quality, varie...

Apple is surveying a subset of Apple TV subscribers about how they feel the service is performing, covering content quality and variety, as well as the importance of awards and sports to their overall experience. Here are the details.

Apple surveys Apple TV subscribers

Apple is inviting some Apple TV subscribers to share their thoughts on their experience with the service.

In the roughly 15-minute questionnaire, Apple asks subscribers how they perceive the diversity of talent and creators on the platform, how much awards and buzz influence what they choose to watch, how important it is to relate to characters and storylines, and how they rate the production value of its original content.

At one point, the survey asks how much the user agrees or disagrees with statements such as whether Apple TV contents “are culturally relevant,” “make me feel nostalgic/sentimental,” “are emotionally engaging,” and “are thought-provoking/intellectually stimulating.”

One revealing question in the survey asks users which content categories they would like to see more of. They include categories such as “sports commentary (e.g. sports talk/analysis, pre/post-game, interviews, etc.),” “stand-up comedy,” “competition reality,” and “content in my local language,” in addition to more traditional categories such as crime, drama, horror, and music.

The survey also touches on how relevant the availability of classic films is to the subscriber and how important family sharing is to their overall experience. Apple makes a point to ask whether the respondent was aware they could share their Apple TV subscription prior to answering the survey.

Closer to the end of the survey, there is a section of the survey entirely dedicated to sports, asking whether subscribers are die-hard fans, moderate fans, casual fans, not really a fan but interested, or not a fan at all of F1, tennis, Women’s National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, Premier League, Major League Soccer, National Football League, volleyball, and National Basketball Association.

Finally, after probing the user about how they handle streaming subscriptions, the survey asks, “What one thing, if anything, would you add or change about Apple TV?” Before taking a few extra profiling questions on gender, student status, and which other Apple services they use.

So, what one thing, if anything, would you add or change about Apple TV? Let us know in the comments.

Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Severance, The StudioThe Morning ShowShrinking and Silo.
