Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars’ has been renewed for a second season on Apple TV, following an acclaimed eight-part season 1. Here’s what to expect from season 2.

‘Knife Edge’ to come back for a second eight-course serving

Apple TV announced today that BAFTA-award nominee in the Factual Entertainment category, ‘Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars,’ has been renewed for a second season.

Hosted by Topjaw’s Jesse Burgess, the show explores “the high-stakes world of international fine dining with exclusive access over the course of the yearlong Michelin Guide season,” per Apple’s description.

During its first season, ‘Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars’ went from New York to Chicago, Sweden, Ireland, Mexico, and beyond, with each episode following the pressure, effort, and thrill of restaurant teams either chasing their first Michelin stars or fighting to keep the ones they already have.

Here’s executive producer Gordon Ramsey on the show’s relevance and impact:

Now, more than ever restaurants around the world are under enormous pressure to not just strive for perfection, but to survive. The economic tolls of an industry struggling, means the stakes have never been so high. With globally evolving dining standards, ‘Knife Edge’ reveals the stress, the pressure, the resilience needed to hold your nerve in the battle for greatness, it’s honestly brutal. Personally, I continue to be so proud of the passion in our industry – the drive and ambition in those hungry newcomers, the rising talents and those indomitable chefs all continuing to push for Michelin’s exacting recognition.

The second season is expected to continue this worldwide chase for “the most prestigious and elusive culinary award.”

According to Apple, the second season of ‘Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars’ will also have eight episodes. The company also confirmed that the second season, like the first eight-part season, will be produced by Studio Ramsay Global, with Gordon Ramsay serving as executive producer alongside Lisa Edwards, Lorraine Charker-Phillips, and Jill Greenwood.
