Yesterday Apple released beta 2 of iPadOS 26.5, tvOS 26.5, and more for developers, and now today the public beta version has arrived too.

If you’re part of Apple’s public beta program, there are new software updates available to install today.

Anyone can join the beta software program at beta.apple.com to get advanced access to forthcoming updates for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and more.

Today Apple released public beta 2 for iPadOS 26.5, tvOS 26.5, watchOS 26.5, and more.

The new releases are the exact same builds that shipped to developers yesterday.

So far after a day of testing, changes seem pretty minimal compared to beta 1 from a couple weeks ago.

Apple Maps now has a popup with details on ads that will launch in the US and Canada this summer. Otherwise, it’s been hard to spot anything new.

Beta 1 of iOS 26.5 and its companion updates brought end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging to the Messages app, a new Suggested Places feature in Maps, and some smaller updates.
