The MacBook Neo is already available in a fun choice of colors, but some people like to go further by giving their machine a more personalized look.
Some do this with skins, cases, or silicone key covers, but you can switch up the color combo using official Apple parts for as little as $39 …
Macworld spotted the possibility when observing that the cost of replacement parts for the MacBook Neo are surprisingly reasonable. A new bottom case, for example, costs just $34.32, while a complete keyboard replacement is $113.52.
The site’s Roman Loyola notes that the cost of replacement keycaps is so cheap that swapping them out for a different color makes for a practical form of personalization.
The store doesn’t appear to restrict your part selection based on color. It looks like you could, say, buy a citrus bottom replacement case for your silver Neo, or indigo keyboard caps ($39) to replace your blush-colored ones.
You can order the keycaps here in all four colors, though Loyola notes that you will first need to download the free repair guide in order to get the code Apple requires to prove you know how to carry out the swap. If my understanding is correct, then all Apple needs you to do is enter the ID of the user guide, which is ZFXBHN.
The more ambitious of you can even replace the SSD with a 1TB model.
