WWDC26: Watch Apple’s short recap of this year’s Platform...
Marcus Mendes · 2026-06-10 · via 9to5Mac

If you missed yesterday’s hour-long WWDC26: Platforms State of the Union, which followed the keynote, Apple has published a 5-minute recap of the most important announcements. Watch it below.

Apple publishes Platforms State of the Union recap

About two hours after Apple wrapped up its keynote for WWDC26, the company held the traditional Platforms State of the Union presentation, where it explained in more detail several technical aspects of the new features it announced during the more public-facing presentation in the morning.

During the ‘WWDC26: Platforms State of the Union’ presentation, which was hosted by Josh Shaffer, Apple’s Senior Director of Platform Technologies, and co-presented by several engineers and researchers, the company offered a deeper look at how developers can take advantage of this year’s new APIs, frameworks, and system-level changes across its platforms.

If you’re a developer and haven’t had a chance to watch the full presentation, you can watch it here. But if you’re in a hurry or just want the highlights, Apple’s 5-minute recap offers a high-level look at what was discussed.

That includes the rebuilt Apple Intelligence architecture in partnership with Google and how that affects its Foundation Models framework (which now includes image input and cloud model support), the new Core AI framework for running on-device models inside apps, and what expanded App Intents support means for third-party apps.

Apple also covered how developers can leverage the revamped Liquid Glass design and SwiftUI improvements, in addition to Xcode 27’s updates to agentic coding, which now includes support for coding agents from Google.

Watch the recap below:

Be sure to check out the Apple Developer YouTube channel, which has added more than 100 session videos, covering everything from Apple Intelligence, Core AI, and the Foundation Models framework to SwiftUI, visionOS, App Intents, Xcode 27, Device Hub, and more.
