Apple is rumored to launch its first ever ‘MacBook Ultra’ later this year, and it could bring MacBook Neo energy but for high-end users.
MacBook Neo has been a big hit for Apple, with users praising its performance, design, and price point.
But for all the excitement the Neo has stirred up, it’s also not the best model for many longtime Mac users.
MacBook Neo expands the Mac line and makes it more accessible for more people. But in many cases, anyone who’s used the Mac for years already is probably better served by a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro.
Later this year though, the MacBook Ultra could deliver that same excitement and energy that the Neo sparked, but for high-end Mac users.
Like the Neo, MacBook Ultra will represent an expansion of Apple’s lineup. It’s rumored to feature:
MacBook Ultra will target a very different demographic than MacBook Neo, but it’s also bound to be more appealing to the average 9to5Mac reader.
When the MacBook Neo was unveiled, I was excited just the same as everyone else. But I also knew one thing right away: Neo was not the computer for me.
I tend to prefer cutting-edge, ‘latest and greatest’-type products. A Mac full of compromises to hit a low price point isn’t for me.
But MacBook Ultra has the chance to be that innovative, brand new Mac that sparks a lot of excitement—and delivers the features I care about. And I imagine plenty of other longtime Apple users will feel the same.
