We’re pledging $50 million through 2030 to take action on...
Randy Spock · 2026-03-05 · via Sustainability

Superpollutants have been responsible for close to half of planetary warming, and without action they’ll continue to warm the planet rapidly in the decades to come.

That’s why today we’re announcing our plan to spend at least $50 million on projects designed to eliminate superpollutants — including methane, fluorinated gases, and other non-CO2 greenhouse gases — from now through 2030. And we’re joined in this effort by other companies in the newly formed Superpollutant Action Initiative.

As we continue to support superpollutant elimination projects, we’ll ensure our impact is catalytic and accurately measured and pave the way for additional companies and governments to follow. Since common superpollutants like methane are shorter lived than CO2, taking action against them helps address near-term rather than long-term warming, complementing our ongoing carbon removal efforts. We’re excited to work alongside a growing number of companies committed to mobilizing against superpollutants.
