Dedicated fans proved their loyalty early, with some lining up from 8am to secure a front-row view of the finalists in action.
Hosted by Scott Tweedie, the event gave locals a front-row seat to the talent headed for the grand finale. Central Coast local Kalani Artis, 23, delivered a moving rendition of Crowded House's Don't Dream It's Over, while Jindabyne's Kesha Oayda, 21, inspired the audience with Miley Cyrus's The Climb. Brisbane's Harlan Goode, 18, rounded out the performances with a powerful cover of Queen's Somebody To Love.
Reflecting on their journey during the Q&A, the finalists shared their disbelief at making the final three. Harlan noted that "nothing can prepare you" for the experience, while Kesha thanked her supporters for a "life-changing" opportunity. Kalani told the crowd he was "beyond excited," adding that the show truly moulds its artists.
The competition reaches its peak this week as the trio chases a life-altering prize, including $100,000, a recording package with Hive Sound Studios, and a songwriting camp with Sony Music Publishing.
The Australian Idol grand finale begins this Monday at 7:30pm on Seven and 7plus, featuring guest appearances by Vanessa Amorosi, Morgan Evans, Anthony Callea, and Amy Shark. The celebrations continue into Tuesday at 7.30pm, when the live winner will finally be announced to the nation.
