NSW Premier and Kogarah MP Chris Minns participated in the march and the service at the War Memorial on the corner of English and Park Streets.
The march down English Street to the memorial was led by the Kogarah Concert Band and included the TS Sirius Naval Cadets, the Kogarah RSL Sub-branch veterans, scouts, local schools and members of the public.
Kogarah RSL Sub-branch president Dave Johns recited the Commemoration for the Fallen: "We thank thee for the brave and faithful dead, who willing laid down their lives on the battlefields of the War or succumbed to the perils of the deep or of the air."
During the service Mr Minns read the prayer God of All Nations. Federal Member for Barton Ash Ambihaipahar delivered the Prayer for Thanksgiving.
The TS Sirius Naval Cadets provided the Catafalque Party.
The National Anthem was led by the Kogarah Concert Band and Imelda Bergin and the New Zealand National Anthem was sung by Tamiti Goff.
Speaking earlier, Mr Minns said, "Anzac Day is the most important day on our national calendar, commemorated across the country.
"One of the best things people can do to show solidarity for those in the armed services is attend a dawn service or visit their RSL on Anzac Day.
"Today communities across our state come together with gratitude to pause and remember the sacrifice and service that allows us the freedoms we are afforded today.
"Lest we forget."
Large crowds were reported at Anzac Day Dawn Services across St George including many school children joining in to honour veterans.
The Kingsgrove RSL Sub-branch posted an Anzac Day message on Facebook: "oday our community came together in remarkable numbers for the ANZAC Day Service at Kingsgrove RSL Club. With even more in attendance this year, the sea of faces standing in quiet reflection was a powerful reminder that remembrance is alive and well in our community.
"From the early morning march through to the service, there was a deep sense of respect, gratitude and unity as we honoured the men and women who have served, and those who continue to serve our nation."
