Work, including relocating flashing lights and painting school zone line markings, will be carried out in up to four shifts between Tuesday June 23 and Friday July 17, weather permitting, Transport for NSW said.

The extended school zone will come into effect after the signs and road markings are installed.

Maryanne Stuart endorsed for Heathcote

Maryanne Stuart will seek a second term as the MP for Heathcote after being unopposed in Labor Party preselection for the election, which is scheduled for March 2027.

Ms Stuart said she had "delivered on many election commitments, but there is more to do".

"From the Helensburgh Police Station, to School Halls for Heathcote High and Sutherland Public School and major repair works on Garie Road and Heathcote Road," she said.

"With the next stage of upgrades along Heathcote Road commencing in October, we are continuing to deliver the infrastructure and services our community deserves.

"The new Mariyung Trains are now operating along the South Coast and T4 lines, with a new timetable commencing in October, improving reliability and capacity for local commuters."

Ms Stuart said the government had committed $5 million to upgrade Fire and Rescue NSW stations in the electorate and she had also made a commitment for a new Engadine Fire Station.
