Construction of the new Cronulla Sharks Leagues Club at Woolooware is powering ahead, with a September opening in sight.

Facade cladding has been completed on the project next to Bay Central Shopping Centre, with glazing works in progress.

New signage has been installed at the entrance.

Sharks chief executive Dino Mezzatesta said in March "We were able to announce with some certainly the finishing line is near and we are targeting a September opening date".

Speaking at club's Annual General Meeting on Wednesday March 25, Mr Mezzatesta indicated the aim was to open the club in conjunction with the club's home game against the Melbourne Storm in the final round of the NRL competition on Saturday September 5 at 7.35pm.

Not only could this clash be vital in determining places in the finals, it will also mark the tenth anniversary of the Sharks winning their first premiership by defeating the Storm in the grand final.
