This milestone was made possible by community collaboration, celebrated during a ceremony for the "X-Life Commemorative Plaque."
The event served as a heartfelt thank-you to the donors who funded a project that deputy principal Dave Renshaw said was a "one-of-a-kind space, designed to support inclusion, wellbeing and play."
When the school faced funding needs to bring the space to life, X-Life Running Club answered a call to action from Georges River councillor Ben Wang.
Club members conquered the 14-kilometre City2Surf course, raising $10,000 for the project.
Fresh off a 122-kilometre run in the Gobi Desert that raised more than $7000 for Alzheimer's-related charities, X-Life president Justin Chan said the initiative will contribute to the Chinese community and to students with diverse learning needs.
The initiative was also supported by AC Stone and Kelvin from HairBank Singapore.
Mr Wang added that the plaque will be a lasting reminder of the care and generosity shown by the first generation of Chinese immigrants in supporting future generations.
Hurstville Public School has also launched a donation initiative, inviting alumni, parents and community members to become a permanent part of the campus history.
For a donation of $50, supporters will receive a legacy paver embedded along the newly renovated entry path leading from Forest Road to the school office.
For a $2000 donation, supporters can secure a custom-made, commemorative plaque.
