Six specialty shops, including four food tenancies and two beauty tenancies with a barber and nail salon, will open at the same time.

An update on the expected opening was provided to the Leader by a spokeswoman for the developer, Conquest.

Earlier in the year, a Conquest statement said the retail component was expected to open in March.

Coles won't commit to a timeline other than expecting to open in the second half of this year.

A traditional topping-out ceremony to mark the structural completion of the $300 million Caringbah Pavilion project took place in February.

With the final concrete poured, the facade installation and internal fit-out phase commenced.

The development will include 242 apartments in two buildings, nine levels and seven levels.

Conquest CEO Michael Akkawi said in February the development had been more than a decade in the making.

"We got involved about five years ago but, prior to that I believe Coles was working on the site to amalgamate the properties from about 2011-12," he said.

"I believe it will bring a new heart to the shire.

"We will have world class amenities - supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, vibrancy, plenty of parking and brand new luxury homes."
